Great location and parking if you get there early
Drinks very expensive and inexperienced bar staff so even the basic drinks (white wine spritzer) were poor. The service charge is unfair given you go to the bar yourself and our drinks were wrong a lot.
Very comfortable and friendly staff
The shampoo/soap etc pumps in the bathrooms didn’t work, this was my second stay and it was the same last time
Everything
Nothing
Lage, gepflegt, schöne Aufenthaltsräume, sehr freundliche Mitarbeiter, Parkmöglichkeit
Bett etwas zu schmal
Reception decor. Car parking facilities
Room was v small v thin walls
Bathroom was tiny
Toilet didn’t flush properly
Breakfast was very poor
Coffee machine kept breaking down
Teas and coffee were of a poor standard
The location and facilities
Wasn’t made to feel welcome and because of a large wedding party excuses were made which affected our stay.
Small bed. Bath tub was bigger.
Very friendly and attentive staff, very good location, bus nearby, the room was large, clean and equipped with everything we needed.
The restaurant menu is very limited.
The room was clean. Thje lifts worked. The staff were helpful. The location is great. A car park is next door if their's is full.
The room was a bit small and the ensuite only fits one at a time.. The overall impression is that hotel maintenance is not kept up and repairs and upgrades are being neglected. Our room had grubby overly small blinds, the air con was a little noisy, the water sprays when used in the bathroom onto surfaces that will suffer. The tap had green algae in the joints. The bed was a bit lumpy and uncomfortable. Probably the mattress is overdue a replacement. The rooms have poor tea/coffee facilities for the price of the hotel, stored in the wardrobe , to be carried over to the desk and plugged in from a 4 inch cord. Safety understood, but it is irritating. No coffee machine. Warm indifferent Champage sent to room costing £49. Tired says it best.
No hot water for the entire stay, this was not mentioned to us at check in either. We had evening dinner plans planned which we wanted to refresh for and could not, had morning plans we had to abandon, as there was still no hot water so shower was not possible. We therefore just went for breakfast and left for home. Shame as we had some stuff planned for the morning we were not able to do.
Location and very nice hotel, bright and clean.
Very helpful friendly staff.
One coffee machine at breakfast in this hotel was not enough, had to queue for coffee.
Parking £28 per night to park our car at the hotel is unacceptable! We stayed for two nights in 2 cars as my friend and I had to travel separately from different parts of the country, made our stay very expensive.
We especially commend restaurant waitress Jesmine: welcoming hostess: calming influence when things went amiss in the kitchen or dinner bookings went wrong. Went out of her way to be helpful and bright. Many of the other staff members were friendly, approachable, and helpful
Very poor bedroom service. In a hotel as pretentious as the Gonville ;one expects rooms to be cleaned and tidied during the morning - not 3.00 p.m. in the afternoon!
Very comfortable and friendly
Location & peace
Waiting for tea machine at breakfast time, to many people using 1 machine.
