Unforgettable stay in beautifully located well maintained 5 star hotel! We liked calm luxury atmosphere and impecable service. Hotel is located in scenary place with view to mountauns. Hotel offers a choice of excellent restaurants on its premises.
This was a great experience. The location is an ancient Chinese town style and the envrionment is fantastic. There are multiple restaurants around the hotel. The public transportation is fair but taking taxi is easy.
環境非常好,可以看雪山

We stayed in a 2 bedroom suite and it was a bit further than other type of rooms, but it offers a very private and quiet stay. The property is HUGE, with a garden, small pool, and the master bedroom faces the direction of the snow mountain. I think this is an awesome place to hang out with your family members or friends. Breakfast was next to the lake & garden and the scenery was beautiful. A good range of food, from western (bacon, sausage, scramble eggs), to pastries, local yunnan delicacies etc.
The 2-bedroom suite was quite a bit further than other rooms so the best way to go back to the room was by the free buggy ride offered by the hotel. During peak hours, we had to wait for a few rounds to get on the buggy. It didn't help that people cut queue and the hotel staff didn't necessarily keep track of who was in line first but rather who was more aggressive in getting on the buggy.
Stunning property - the grounds and rooms really were absolutely beautiful
We ordered ice to the room and it took over an hour to get to us. But that is the only bad point!
This is definitely a very photogenic property, great for IG or TikTok videos. I mistakenly booked a residence for just my daughter and me. The residence was bigger than my daughter’s apartment in San Francisco. My friend who was also staying at the hotel said her regular room was also big. The location is in a suburban area of Lijiang, which means a car is needed to go to the Lijiang ancient city, etc.
The service was OK. After checking in, I had to find someone to take us and our luggage to our room. The guy who took us and our luggage to our room barely said a word, dumped our luggage and left. Not exactly an experience I expected from a five star hotel. The front desk also won’t help us book a private car to the snow mountain, instead, hooked us up with someone on WeChat.
The breakfast offers a wide selection. However, for all three mornings that we were there, they had trouble keeping items stocked and available. Most of the items like baked sweet potatoes were not kept warm.
Their restaurant offered good service and ok food.
Overall, it is an OK place to stay, just don’t expect an high level of customer service.
We had a wonderful stay at Jinmao. It is a quiet santuary to come back to after exploring bussling touristy old town and Yulong area We love tbe modernised chinese architecture, our room was spacious and surrounded by beautiful gardens. We tried the chinese restaurants a few times and frequent the bakery. The resort also organised beer garden party during our stay. The staff are polite, helpful and very welcoming. Will llove to stay here again if we are in Lijiang next time.
The pillows are too soft for me and my husband. It would be nice if you could offer some options . The tv & movie channel are limited to local programme, it would be nice to have more international programme.
บรรยากาศดี พนักงานพอได้
We stayed at Jinmao Purelax Lijiang and overall had a very enjoyable experience, especially for a large family trip.
The hotel is located close to Shuhe Ancient Town — a Didi ride costs less than 5 RMB, which is very convenient. The property itself is spacious, peaceful, and beautifully set against the backdrop of Jade Dragon Snow Mountain. The atmosphere is one of the highlights.
There are plenty of activities within the hotel, with a daily schedule provided. Complimentary activities include tie-dye, sugar painting, and fishing, while paid options include leather crafting and clay doll making. This makes it easy to spend an entire day in the hotel without getting bored.
We traveled as a group of 11 and stayed in a 3-bedroom villa (Villa 8888) and a 2-bedroom villa (Villa 8887). Both villas are located at the far end of the property, and initially we relied heavily on buggy carts to get around, which felt quite far. It wasn’t until the second night that we realized there is a shortcut walkway that makes the distance much shorter. While the hotel provided a map at check-in, the explanation was minimal — likely due to limited English communication. Most interactions were done via translation apps, and staff tended to avoid lengthy verbal explanations.
At check-in, we were asked to add the hotel on WeChat, which turned out to be the most efficient way to communicate — even more convenient than phone calls or face-to-face conversations.
On the day we visited Jade Dragon Snow Mountain, we had to leave before 6 AM. The hotel kindly prepared breakfast boxes for us to pick up at the lobby. Each box included bread, yogurt, water, and fruit — simple but very convenient.
Villa Experience: The 3-bedroom villa is very spacious. The outdoor area includes a small heated pool, perfect for soaking, along with seating and a garden space. Inside, there is a large living area, dining table for 6–8 people, and a separate entertainment room with a high-tech mahjong table. There is also a small kitchenette with a fridge, microwave, kettle, and stove — though no cooking utensils or cutlery are provided, only glasses and teacups.
One bedroom is located on the ground floor (twin beds), while the other two bedrooms upstairs feature single king beds. The rooms are comfortable, and the bathroom floors are heated, which is a nice touch.
The 2-bedroom villa is similar in layout and also has a heated outdoor pool. However, we did encounter a few minor issues: the bedside light switches were wired incorrectly (left switch controlling right light), and the sliding door between the bedroom and dressing area was stuck. Despite this, the overall stay was still very comfortable.
Dining: Breakfast at the Lakeside restaurant offers a good variety of international and local options, including noodles, congee, and freshly fried Chinese dough sticks. The restaurant was never overcrowded, and service was attentive with prompt table clearing.
We also tried other dining options in the hotel. The Chinese restaurant was excellent — the roast duck was particularly memorable, and portions (like fried rice) were very generous. The “Hi Fire” charcoal grill experience was unique and quite upscale, but preparation time was long (almost an hour). It’s highly recommended to reserve in advance.
Additional Experiences: One standout activity is the complimentary Naxi costume photoshoot. The package includes 5 free photos per room, with optional makeup services (100 RMB for basic, 300 RMB for full makeup). The staff were patient and professional, and notably did not accept tips. Additional photos can be purchased at 80 RMB per image, with discounts available for larger packages. Reservations should be made at least one day in advance.
Overall: A beautiful resort with great facilities, ideal for families or those looking to relax and spend time within the property. Minor communication challenges and a few room maintenance issues aside, the experience was very positive.
Nothing
Absolutely massive. Drunken tourists all over, very loud. Concierge services inexistant. No understanding of English. Poor food quality and dishes. Left 14 hours after arrival to Intercontinental which has excellent standards, very kind and helpful staff.
Beautiful hotel with spacious, well-designed rooms. It is conveniently located near various tourist spots.
The room facilities were in poor condition. The shower head was loose and felt unsafe, posing a risk of injury. I had to call maintenance twice to get it fixed. Additionally, the power outlets were broken and had no electricity, which required another repair.
The service at breakfast was also disappointing. The staff lacked a service mindset and were gathered around gossiping, which made me, as a foreigner, feel very uncomfortable and unwelcome.
Great modern place, however bit challenging if you are not good in Mandarin.
If you want to try beijing duck - make sure to book in advance. Also bit weird to pay extras for animal feeding 20 yuans, when the room charge is not as low as well. I would expect it to be free.
Language barrier
My recent stay at Jinmao Purelax Lijiang was unfortunately disappointing and did not meet five-star expectations.
The check-in process took around 20–30 minutes and was handled by an inexperienced staff member. There was no acknowledgment of my World of Hyatt membership.
I also encountered multiple issues during check-in. The Wi-Fi did not work, my prior request for a children’s room setup was not arranged, and the room type was changed without explanation.
Most concerning, I upgraded to a suite which included breakfast, yet I was incorrectly informed that neither of my rooms included breakfast. The staff was unable to verify the booking properly and only confirmed after checking with a manager.
There was also no proper introduction to the hotel facilities or layout, which is not expected from a property of this level.
In addition, concierge service was unavailable when needed, and I had to wait and actively look for assistance. The payment process was also inconvenient, as the hotel did not have sufficient change for cash payments and asked me to use alternative payment methods instead.
The only positive experience was the shuttle driver, who was helpful and provided useful information about the surroundings.
Overall, this stay fell well below expectations, especially for a World of Hyatt property.
scenery surround the hotel..previous design ...size of the room
It seems like the hotel maintenance is not detailed...repainting takes away the luxurious impression...then the pictures on the walls which for me also reduce the elegance of the character...I feel that currently there is more emphasis on function alone without paying attention to the elegance of the entire property.
We stayed at the Jinmao Purelax Hotel in Lijiang for two nights in January 2026. The hotel is exceptionally beautiful, showcasing the elegance of traditional Chinese garden design. The overall atmosphere is calm and serene, complemented by a simple yet refined neo-classical aesthetic that creates a sense of quiet luxury.
The staff were consistently warm and professional. We arrived earlier, and the front desk associate, Kathy, kindly assisted us with an early check-in and also offered complimentary breakfast, which was greatly appreciated. We can look at the sunrise over Yulong Mountain at hotel.
Overall, it was a graceful and memorable experience, and we would highly recommend this hotel.
