Pros:

The staff were all so lovely and helpful. The accommodation was clean and bright and had everything we needed for budget accommodation. The hotel was close to town.

Amazing - we loved our stay here
Pros:

We honestly can’t then Lin and An enough for their amazing hospitality while staying at Hoang Trinh Hotel, nothing was too much trouble, they were both able to answer our questions, make recommendations, book spa services and arrange room service when my husband wasn’t feeling well.

Tonight we ate in the restaurant and while speaking with An afterwards, she revealed she was the chef tonight- I ordered pork with lemongrass and chilli and it was honestly one of the best dishes I’ve eaten whilst travelling throughout Vietnam.

The rooms are a comfortable size and well set up with room for your suitcase without intruding on the room itself.

The pool is a very comfortable temperature (we have often found pools throughout Asia are very cold and un-swimmable) and we happily spent several hours relaxing, swimming and talking to other guests and staff throughout our stay.

The only thing I can mention that wasn’t perfect was the room smells musty - either from the air conditioner or water damage in the bathroom- we just opened our balcony door and let air in before closing and air conditioning it over night. The beds are very firm also - but again that’s something we find all across SEA and you get accustomed to it quickly.

We will absolutely stay here again in the future as we have had such a wonderful experience - thank you again to both Lin and An and all the wonderful staff for making our stay so wonderful!!

Cons:

As mentioned above, the only thing that wasn’t 100% was the musty smell in the room. We just opened the balcony door and ventilated and turned on the air con and it was fine.

Very welcoming hosts
Pros:

Travelling south to north over 6 weeks,this was the best hotel in my price range I stayed in.
The hotel is handily located just outside the old town in a quiet side street.
The foyer is very welcoming and I was given a cold drink and small cakes on arrival.The staff are genuinely friendly and helpful.
There is an inviting small pool on the ground level wirh bar service.There is also a breakfast/restaurant area on the lower level.
Breakfast is included and there is something for all tastes.
Everything in my room was clean and functional.
I was given a map on arrival featuring local highlights and where to buy tickets to visit the many temples.I was also given a small gift on departure!

Très bon hôtel

The rooms were clean and comfortable. They provide buffet breakfast and you can also refill your bottle of water. The staff was always friendly and helpful including the people who work at the restaurant.

Cons:

They included credit cards as a payment option on booking, however, in reception they ask you to do it in cash. We didn’t have it so we needed to insist to be able to do it by card.

We won't be back...

It's located close to the old town. The breakfast was ok.

Cons:

Taken me a while to get around to writing this. First time i've left a negative review.

We made the booking at the last minute. Room was advertised as a King bed with balcony. It was not a king bed and the balcony is internal to the building, not external. In fact the balcony sat below the internal stairwell. The room was tired. The fridge did not work. The bathroom was in major need of renovation with mould on the ceiling with an open access hole in the roof. The room had a damp, musty smell as if it had not been aired out in some time. The bedside lamp was broken and was poorly repaired with cable ties. The pool was filthy and not fit to swim in. The room had a door that opened into the room adjacent ours. It was possible to hear everything happening in that room (and they would obviously be able to hear us). At midnight that person decided it would be a good idea to start blasting Metallica's Enter Sandman through a bluetooth speaker.

At $50+ AUD per night, it was well overpriced. Should have been no more than $35 AUD for what we got.
