The friendly and helpful welcome from the staff was outstanding - checked in by Charley, helped by Lauren and the duty manager Helga, and that continued through my stay.
My room was unusually spacious for a budget hotel and the city centre location is perfect -ignore the extremely under-stated main entrance.
The bacon, sausage and scrambled egg could have had more flavour but the cooked fruit and cereals were excellent.
Close by and clean
Small car park and not included
Room roomy enough and had fridge. Beds comfortable.
Close to the centre of town & plenty of places to find an evening meal.
Breakfast adequate.
Shower wasn't completely clean, and water drained slowly, so the tray filled with water quite quickly.
The room was on the east side of the buildig and heated up very quickly after the sun rose, even though it was cool (about 9oC) outside.
Breakfast was basic but fine. The price of a pint at the bar is slightly higher compared to the pubs around the hotel, but that is to be expected.
The shower appeared to be blocked, but it was only the hair catcher in the plug. Just removed the plug.
The breakfast room had a nice relaxed feel to it.The actual breakfast was well presented and the attentive staff made sure that it remained so! The quality of the breakfast items was also of a very good standard.
Clean large room comfy beds, were very soft but didnt affect sleep quality. Large shower with good selection of toiletries.
Close to lift for access
Plentiful well cooked breakfast and take away options is a good idea too
Friendly and efficient staff
No problems when asking for extra pillows and helpful staff throughout the stay.
Parts of room tired, paint peeling off bathroom door, some minor stains on carpet, not able to open window at all, rooms and corridors in need of upgrading but this didnt not affect our stay. Everything clean and tidy.
The room was fine, the breakfast was excellent.
The extra cost of the hotel car park.
Admittedly not on the nicest street, but very centrally located, and well priced. I chose to stay here (having lived in Wakefield previously and knowing the area) as it was significantly cheaper than similar hotels in central Leeds.
Room was a good size, well furnished and clean (even if a little shabby, it had clearly been cleaned well)
Overall friendly and helpful staff, they certainly make you feel welcome.
Carpets in the room were stained, and the glasses/crockery/cutlery were dirty, both in the rooms and at breakfast - should have been clear enough to staff that it needed to go back in the dishwasher not out for use! Enough to put me off going again! Breakfast was varied quality, with staff clearly not able to keep up with bringing fresh food out and cleaning tables.
Rooms are noisy, can feel/hear every banging and conversation in the corridors.
Quiet rooms, clean and comfortable and close to the railway station so only a 5-10 min walk
I had an evening meal and the staff were great with my dietary needs. The Thai green curry was delicious.
Breakfast was simple but tasty, lovely scrambled eggs and I appreciated being able to get some gluten free cereal
Entrance area could be improved, it sits on what felt like a strange side road.
Perhaps a little more info on the small menu and some extra options but the food I had was lovely. Interestingly the address isn’t recognised by some food delivery apps so I either had the food in the bar or had to go back out into Wakefield for some food
All staff were friendly and helpful. Room large and easy access. Breakfast had a good selection available. Breakfast room clean and staff attentive without being overbearing.
Situation of hotel very near to city centre and amenities.
Although the room was large, it needed a lot of updating. Internal doors chipped and in poor condition. Room was for a disabled person, pull wire beside bed annoying. Wet room poor, after a shower the whole of the floor was wet as drainage poor, so unable to use bathroom without shoes on throughout the day. Bathroom sink didn’t run away.
