We stayed just a night at this beautiful hotel on arrival at Lisbon. We did wish it could be more.
Location - unbelievable, middle of all the action in historic area of Lisbon
Staff - Incredibly helpful and friendly. They arranged a Fado dinner for us, which we enjoyed tremendously. Also stored our luggage for us while we traveled to Porto.
Friendly advice on everything, including dining and traveling options
Room - We stated in a classic room. It was a perfect size for 2 people. Included a mini bar and has all the necessary luxuries. The bathroom was very comfortable..Shower spacious with great water pressure.
Breakfast - We had breakfast in the morning for EUR 20 each. Included pastries. fruits as well as a menu to select a further hot or cold option. Everything was delicious as well.
Really enjoyed this hotel. Don't hesitate to book this for your stay
If you are lucky enough to book this hotel, just do it!! My husband and I - picky people - LOVED this gem of a hotel. Comfortable and stylish, Santiago de Alfama was a peaceful oasis after walking many miles in Lisbon. The hotel staff - Guilherme, Ruben, and Rita - go above and beyond for the guests and made the experience 10 out of 10. Bruno at the bar/restaurant is also amazing as was Deanna at the spa. (Fantastic masseuse!) I would return to Lisbon just to experience the hotel again!!
This hotel was amazing, the location, the restaurant, the room, the entire experience was flawless. In particular, the staff at this hotel were all amazing, from the initial greeting and check-in, to housekeeping, and a specific shout out to Henrique and Bruno, part of the restaurant staff, they were fantastic, really made our stay even better. We are already planning our return visit.
We spent two nights at this beautiful hotel before embarking on a cruise. We were greeted so warmly by Guilherme at the hotel. He was so genuinely kind, showing us to our room and offering ideas and assistance on things to do in the area. The hotel is gorgeous and luxurious while still maintaining character and charm. The room was immaculate and spacious, and the restaurant has the loveliest patio so we ate outside. The location is right in the Alfama, walking distance to the castle and other sites, and it was such a pleasure to come back to at the end of the day. But most memorable was the service - both Guilherme and all the staff were so friendly, helpful and warm. I will definitely be returning to this gem of a hotel.
We absolutely loved our stay in Lisbon! The hotel is located in one of the most beautiful neighborhoods, which made exploring the city so easy and enjoyable. From the moment we arrived, everything was seamless. The check-in process was incredibly easy and we were welcomed with a fun local drink that immediately made us feel immersed in the experience.
Our room was very spacious with a beautiful bathroom, and everything throughout the hotel felt clean, comfortable, and thoughtfully designed. One of our favorite parts was the hotel bar. The cocktails were unique, creative, and so much fun!
Overall, everything about our stay was fantastic! The location, atmosphere, service, and attention to detail made this such a memorable experience. We would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting Lisbon!
Wonderful boutique hotel . Perfect location and ambiance . Room was spacious and bathroom size was great ( dbl wash sink 🤗🤗). Breakfast was great and plentiful. Staff was one of the best we’ve ever experienced in all of our travels
One of the best boutique hotels we have ever stayed in. Beautiful renovated building with wonderful rooms and all amenities. Gorgeous lobby and courtyards, very nice restaurant and bar, spotlessly clean and maintained perfectly. As nice as the physical property is, the service by the hotel staff is even better. They were highly attentive and helpful, as well as friendly and enjoyable to speak with. Terrific bar and Bruno is an outstanding and creative bartender. Finally, it's in a great location in the middle of Alfama. We will certainly return to Santiago de Alfama.
My husband Philip and I recently had our wedding reception at the Santiago de Alfama hotel and it was one of the best decisions we've ever made. This historic, family-run hotel located in beautiful Alfama is a stunning building, but what really makes this hotel stand out is the incredible staff. Guest Relations Manager Lana Pugacova is a huge asset to this hotel and she went above and beyond to ensure everything ran smoothly for us, handling and overlooking absolutely everything. We can't speak highly enough of her. The delicious food, thoughtfully curated cocktails, efficient guest transportation and incredible floral arrangements were priceless. The stunning views and natural daylight in the junior deluxe suite on the fourth floor was exceptional (and we highly recommend it although all rooms at this hotel are spotless, with extremely comfortable bedding and a vibe that gives a perfect blend of luxury and charm). There were many personal touches for our special day such as handwritten notecards, complimentary drinks, customized menus, stunning handmade flower ice balls, a personal music playlist, incredible live band and many other thoughtful details -which is what sets this hotel apart from others. It was great to meet owner Manny who made time to introduce himself to us. Fabio created the most exquisite, fairytale garden florals transforming the dining room into a breathtaking garden island of alliums, grasses and hydrangeas. He also created gorgeous table centrepieces, freestanding arrangements and hand-tied bouquets incorporating peonies, roses, stock and carnations in shades of delicate ivory, soft lavender, blush pink, orange and peach tones. Bruno (the hotel's talented mixologist) created the most stunning cocktails for our special day and even kindly surprised us by providing an impromptu translation for one of our speeches. The team at Audrey's worked hard to make sure our champagne breakfast and reception dinner food was fresh, inspired and an experience to be remembered. Rita delivered her usual warm, friendly and authentic welcome to our guests. We always feel genuinely cared for by everyone at this hotel and would not hesitate to recommend this hotel and its staff in a heartbeat. I would also add that if you are considering a wedding reception here you simply should not hesitate! Thank you dear friends at Santiago for making our wedding a truly memorable day; you are in our hearts and memories and we can't wait to come back soon.
The description "boutique" tends to be overused but fits perfectly here, the hotel has only 19 rooms and with a very personalized greeting and tour when checking in it feels like visiting a private home. The location is in the heart of the historic district (Alfama) between the castle at the crest and the Sé (cathedral) on the way up, streets in the district are quaint but quite steep for walking and many are cobble-stoned. The hotel building is historic and the rooms large and beautifully decorated with free standing bathtubs (requiring some agility to use) and separate shower rooms-our only complaint really was that the taps in the shower were fairly hard to figure out and standing in too hot or too cold water while adjusting them not pleasant. The location is quiet but not remote, an easy Uber ride into other more populated districts (I have never been in a city with better Uber services) needed for a greater variety of retail and restaurants. The hotel operates a paid pick-up service from the airport, expensive but worthwhile if you wish to be met. Price-wise the hotel is very high end but if some atmosphere and personal attention (detailed activity and dining recommendations for example) are what you wish this is a good choice. The staff have perfect English.
Great one of a kind hotel in Lisbon. The staff from check in to check were great. The restaurant in property was a great surprise.
We had a lovely stay at Santiago da Alfama. Beautiful hotel, great location and fantastic staff. We would definitely stay there again.
A nice small friendly hotel, easy to relax. The staffwas friendly and helpful. The rooms were very nice.
We had a wonderful four night stay at Santiago De Alfama. From the moment that we walked through the wonderful doors we could not fault it. All of the staff from cleaners to front of staff could not have been more attentive and helpful. The breakfast was probably the best we have had compared to similar hotels. No buffet which was so nice. Would recommend this hotel to anyone who wants a peaceful haven in the heart of busy Lisbon.
A fabulous hotel in the Alfama district in the beautiful city of Lisbon. The staff cannot do enough for you, the restaurant is superb and breakfast on the patio was delightful. What’s not to like!
Wow. What a find. Roman ruins beneath a palazzo, all underneath a modern and stylish boutique hotel. Great food and drinks. Comfortable room --- I had a King with a huge bathroom. And the staff are fabulous. I was welcomed with, "This is your home for the next few days" and they were right. They went out of their way to make me feel like I belonged. I'd stay again in a heartbeat.
We would highly recommend the Santiago De Alfama, boutique hotel. The staff and service was incredible. Everyone went out of the way to ensure that our experience was the best.
Nice little hotel with high standard. Nice and individually furnitured rooms.
Very good breakfast.
We will come back
As others have shared, the service at this hotel is beyond compare. Both before and during our stay, we were given useful guidance that helped to make our time in Lisbon a lot of fun. Every one of the concierges was kind and helpful, the staff at Audrey’s for breakfast and dinner were fun to talk to (and the food was great, btw), and the housekeeping staff always served with a smile. Our room was small but manageable, and my only gripe was with the sink’s modern faucet that was more fancy than practical. Add a great location to all of this and I’m not sure what more you could ask for. Well, ask the concierge for that unique lunch spot on Campo Santa Clara and your trip will be complete!
This place is incredible. We were made to feel at home immediately. The staff is a major part of the magic here in addition to comfy spacious rooms. The reception was anchored by a capable & relatable Lana & Guilherme. The wonderful meals were served by the most accommodating, sincere & fun staff comprised of Hendrik, Prakash, Lucas, Daniel, Lakshmi & chef Marc. The owners have a wonderful touch for assembling a harmonious staff & curating a 5 star experience. We hope to return one day soon. P.S. If you have time a massage by Thelma is well worth it.
We recently visited Lisbon and stayed at Santiago de Alfama for Christmas. The hotel was absolutely stunning- such unique architecture and beautiful views of the river. The breakfast at Audrey's was fabulous everyday. Rita checked us in upon arrival and gave us a warm welcome with interesting historical facts about the property. She was so kind and helpful. We also enjoyed cocktails at Manny's with our delightful bartender, Manuel. He was so kind and personable, telling us great stories and keeping us laughing all evening. Our stay was absolutely amazing and we were so grateful to spend Christmas here. Our only wish is that we could have stayed longer!
