beautiful place, beautiful rooms, great food, excellent location, excellent service, they are all very very kind. We love it
The place was fantastic! We knew we made the right hotel choice as soon as we met Rita and she took us on the tour. Mannys bar and specifically Bruno were fantastic as well! Cant wait to come back.
Great location close to the cathedral, the Miradouro de Santa Luzia, the castle and tram stops, but on a quiet street. Only a short walk down into the centre (bit of a climb on the way back though!). Nice cool interior and an area outside the hotel that’s shaded from the afternoon sun and great for a post-sightseeing drink.
Friendly staff throughout, from front desk/concierge (very helpful before our trip with restaurant suggestions and bookings), housekeeping (good and thorough) to the breakfast and bar team who were excellent.
We had room 101 on the first floor overlooking the front of the hotel. Double sink, shower, bath, dressing area. Smallish window to the front but two additional windows overlooking the internal entrance area. Rooms higher up have larger windows. Good air con.
Amazing property! Great location in Alfama (right below the castle). Staff was outstanding, by the end of the week we knew everyone's name. Rooms were large and bed very comfy. One of the best stays we have had. Highly, highly recommend. the onsite cafe was great for breakfast, lunch, dinner and drinks.
This hotel is so dreamy. The interior is beautiful, the location is fantastic, the staff are all so warm and welcoming. They’ll help with literally anything you need. My massage was amazing and so was the recommendation to skip Cascais and head across the river. It was hard not to eat and drink at Audrey’s and Manny’s every night! Highly recommend, I will be back. Thank you!
Every detail of my stay was absolutely flawless. The service was exceptional, particularly from Guilherme, who was attentive, supportive, and offered excellent recommendations. The restaurant staff made every evening a delight, providing the perfect atmosphere to unwind with a glass of wine. My room was meticulously maintained, complete with turn down service by the most gracious housekeeping staff. This Santiago de Alfama does everything right, with thoughtful touches that truly set it apart."
Between business and vacations I have stayed at 100s of hotels. Dozens of 5 and 4 star properties.
This is one of the best experiences we have ever had. From the moment we checked in to the moment we checked out we were treated like royalty. Rita at the from desk was so friendly and helpful.
The staff here was the most friendly and attentive of any of the place we've stayed.
The wait staff at the restaurant was amazing. Enrique, Prakash, Laxmi and others
(I wish I had their names) were second to none. Housekeeping amazing!!
Kudos to the owners and management.
Beautiful hotel with charm and luxury. Friendly and helpful staff. In a historic and interesting area. Can highly recommend for your Lisbon stay
This hotel is very attractive and cozy. The public and private areas were clean. All of the staff with whom we interacted spoke English well and some even fluently. We enjoyed our bar visit; I loved the Cherry Cherry Cherry cocktail. Our breakfast was very good too. We were there for only one night; the location allowed us to do some touring before we boarded our cruise ship.
We absolutely loved our 2 night stay at the hotel! Clean, clean, clean! Beyond premium location in the heart of Alfama. Audrey’s restaurant was excellent with high quality fresh and delicious food.. the servers were outstanding( shout out to Helen and Daniel). Best value for Lisbon
Booked this hotel based on the stellar reviews & the charming photos. I’ve stayed in countless hotels, and many 5 star hotels across the world. This is by *no* means a 5 star hotel experience. More appropriately labeled a 3 star hotel. Our room had one tiny window with natural light, bathroom not pleasantly lit with no natural light, shower was on and off hot/cold, 2 sinks right next to one another with literally zero counter space. We used one sink to just hold our toiletries literally in the sink because there’s nowhere to put them. The bed was hard and uncomfortable with a lump down the middle. There was a tiny old tv in the room, no art on the walls just 2 old nails or screws where art may have been? The light in the hall of the room flickered constantly when on. No amenities to speak of really. Upon arrival, there is a lobby area but no staff greeting you there nor at the front of the building. You have to go down into a separate area where someone is sitting behind a desk. This is not some huge deal or inconvenience, but certainly not a high end experience. The staff we encountered were pleasant, but the service here is not on par with 4 or 5 star hotels. Very overpriced for what you get & I am truly confused by the high reviews. Disappointing experience. We left a day early, ate the cost of the third night, and went elsewhere.
Blown away by the exceptional personal service and attention
to detail in this lovely luxury boutique hotel in a prime historic district location. Amazing staff, superb location, beautiful bar, lovely terrace restaurant, choose breakfast
option even if you don’t
normally eat breakfast, a real treat and start to your day, wide variety of superb dinner selections too, private terrace balcony on 3rd floor with beautiful view, spacious bathroom, great water pressure, the whole package is nothing short of fantastic! The impeccable service and personal attention in this hotel
will be the best
part of anyone’s stay in Lisbon!!
Great air conditioning, service, rooms are a bit tight but very charming location not easy to drive to
Absolutely loved Santiago De Alfama! So glad we chose it for our last night in Portugal. Would’ve loved to stay here longer! It is located in a beautiful part of Lisbon in the heart of old Alfama yet setback on a peaceful, quiet cobblestone street so you have the best of both worlds. The concierge were extremely helpful and kind; spending time upon check in and helping us to plan our last day in Lisbon. The super helpful gentleman who checked us in also researched Fado options for us. Exceptional service all around! The hotel is beautiful; super impressive as soon as you walk in; the entrance area as well as the bar (great cocktails!) restaurant (delicious!) and guest rooms all gorgeous and super clean. Our early check in request was accommodated and a special anniversary treat and kind, hand written note was waiting for us in our pristine, bright, welcoming room. Thank you for a short but super sweet stay!
The hotel is located in the very heart of Alfama, a short walk to all the many major attractions in this area. The hotel is just a bit off the beaten path and therefore quiet. We stayed here for almost a week. The hotel is a small quaint hotel, located in a palace. Our room had a little patio, shared with other rooms. It was well appointed and surprisingly quiet given the location of the hotel. The service of the hotel is absolutely amazing, very personal and attentive. The breakfast is a treat every day. It’s served outside on a patio by the street, with many very nice options, and, friendly and attentive service. Our stay couldn’t have been better.
Perfect location for our first night in Lisbon! The service was impeccable, room was beautiful and very clean. Get a cappuccino, it’s a work of art! I would highly recommend this lovely hotel!
The staff offered wonderful hospitality and service, with their lovely smiles, spotless cleaning,
and perfectly timed communication. I would love to stay here again the next time I visit Lisbon.
What really stood out was the location—despite being right in the heart of the tourist district, it felt completely free from the hustle and bustle.
We stayed just a night at this beautiful hotel on arrival at Lisbon. We did wish it could be more.
Location - unbelievable, middle of all the action in historic area of Lisbon
Staff - Incredibly helpful and friendly. They arranged a Fado dinner for us, which we enjoyed tremendously. Also stored our luggage for us while we traveled to Porto.
Friendly advice on everything, including dining and traveling options
Room - We stated in a classic room. It was a perfect size for 2 people. Included a mini bar and has all the necessary luxuries. The bathroom was very comfortable..Shower spacious with great water pressure.
Breakfast - We had breakfast in the morning for EUR 20 each. Included pastries. fruits as well as a menu to select a further hot or cold option. Everything was delicious as well.
Really enjoyed this hotel. Don't hesitate to book this for your stay
If you are lucky enough to book this hotel, just do it!! My husband and I - picky people - LOVED this gem of a hotel. Comfortable and stylish, Santiago de Alfama was a peaceful oasis after walking many miles in Lisbon. The hotel staff - Guilherme, Ruben, and Rita - go above and beyond for the guests and made the experience 10 out of 10. Bruno at the bar/restaurant is also amazing as was Deanna at the spa. (Fantastic masseuse!) I would return to Lisbon just to experience the hotel again!!
This hotel was amazing, the location, the restaurant, the room, the entire experience was flawless. In particular, the staff at this hotel were all amazing, from the initial greeting and check-in, to housekeeping, and a specific shout out to Henrique and Bruno, part of the restaurant staff, they were fantastic, really made our stay even better. We are already planning our return visit.
