Da aparência externa e da decoração interna, mas aparentemente sem manutenção.

Cons:

Sou asmático e minha esposa é muito alérgica. Durante a noite deixamos a janela aberta ( passando frio para podermos respirar) e mesmo assim passamos mal devido a presença de ácaros. Tomamos várias medicações mas não passamos bem e não conseguimos dormir durante a noite espirrando. Na manhã seguinte, 10:00 hs ainda não havia ninguém na recepção e tivemos que avisar a funcionária do café que estávamos indo embora pois estávamos passando mal. Pagamos por 2 noites, sendo que ficamos apenas 1 (saímos antes do horário do check out da 1ª noite ) e o hotel nao se dignou a devolver a diária não utilizada por motivo de saúde. Se você for sensível a ácaros e odores fortes que parecia cheiro de mofo, fuja desse hotel. Esperávamos mais apoio do Booking.com

Unbelievably awful.
Pros:

Beautiful traditional mansion house, close to city centre in a quiet location in extensive grounds.

Cons:

We’ve stayed here in previous visits, and the deterioration in the property and service was palpable. Hosting was non- existent, and breakfast service - “wait here for a table” - didn’t happen, so we chose our table and served ourselves. Waiting staff took 3 or 4 visits from the kitchen before acknowledging our presence. I was served with a pot of instant coffee - later denied by the “manager”, but I’ve been drinking coffee before he was born and I know the difference.! The facilities “on offer” were not available, but the snooker table available to guests was always being used by “management“ and their pals.
I was brought up in Elgin and I’m aghast that this once prime property is now a shadow of its former self, offering itself to the foreign visitors who were stayingg there as an 4-star example of Scottish hospitality.
My wife did takes some fotos of the worst aspects, but they are on her phone and I have not got the energyy or time to wate on transferring them to this report to send them to you. If you want them, request them from her directly by email to [email protected]

Great 3 nights stay at the Mansion House , fab staff
Pros:

Lovely staff, especially the breakfast team, they couldn’t do enough for us, Lizi was fabulous, the chef was very accommodating

heel vriendelijk personeel, ligging is top, ambiance.

Extreem veel achterstallig onderhoud, lekkage vlekken en zeer stoffig, ziet er op de foto vele male mooier uit ;-)

Hugely disappointing. Avoid the lodge.
Pros:

The staff I met were friendly and efficient. My bathroom was new and efficient (I was aware it was not en suite). The bed was comfy. The breakfast was good.

Cons:

I thought I was staying in a Scottish country-style hotel. It turns out I was in a gatehouse or lodge down the drive from the hotel. This had been chopped about to create (I think) three bedrooms, my separate bathroom, communal kitchen area and dining area (I did not need anything but the bedroom and separate bathroom). Most surprisingly, the lodge lacked any lightshades, either in the hall and even worse in my large bedroom, which was called Macallan. The ambience was terrible with two bare light bulbs hanging from the ceiling. The walls were bare, with no artwork. A large mirror was lent up against a wall. The furniture was a hotch-potch of old and new. It included an old sideboard with lots of ugly scorch marks on it. The "signage" in the lodge was mainly cheap A4 printed sheets stuck up with Sellotape. The main hotel has 4 stars. This rating does NOT apply to the lodge.

Une belle étape
Pros:

Le cadre du parc, le charme victorien du bâtiment principal, l'amabilité du personnel, l'annexe où nous logions dans une grande chambre, et où nous partagions avec 2 autres chambres une cuisine équipée, une salle à manger et un salon, le petit déjeuner raffiné et copieux dans le château, la proximité de la ville et des commerces, etc.

Having being put in the lodge with a separate bathroom, and the damp wet windows.
Pros:

Breakfast was absolutely fine, everything on offer, although the poached eggs were solid not runny.

Cons:

We thought we was staying in the Mansion House but actually stayed in the Lodge up the drive way, separated bathroom down the hall way, just annoying when needing the bathroom multiple times during the night.
The premises need ALOT of tlc such a shame its gone so bad looking
Also the Fire exit in the kitchen in the lodge was locked . Lots of damp in our "room" wet windows & dirty window frames.
Lamp shades would be nicer aswell, & two dressing gowns instead of one.
Bed was comfy.

This old property has been tastefully updated as much as possible without spoiling the looks.
Pros:

The Breakfast was very good. the room was large and clean, the bed was comfortable.
The bathroom was large with plenty of space to put toiletries etc., and one of the few hotels I have visited that didn't have a loose toilet seat.

Cons:

I cant think of anything.
