Cleanliness
6.8
Mixed cleanliness: several guests reported dust, cobwebs and inconsistent room cleaning; other guests found rooms and bathrooms spotless.
Service
8.6
Mixed service: many reports of friendly, helpful staff and excellent bar/breakfast service, but recurring understaffing, slow service at times, and difficulty finding staff for check-in/checkout.
Location
9.4
Consistently praised central location, convenient for town centre and attached pub; considered a major strength by multiple guests.
Room Quality
8.6
Rooms generally described as comfortable, cosy and in some cases spacious with good beds; occasional comments about smaller rooms or stairs to certain rooms.

Good amenities including an attractive bar, complimentary tea/coffee and parking, but parking fills quickly and there were isolated issues (pigeons in eaves, carpark incidents, awkward stairs).
Value for Money
8.2
Viewed as good value by many guests ('reasonably priced', 'met expectations'), though service/cleanliness issues reduced perceived value for some.
Food and Beverage

First day was ok though we were supposedly upgraded to a better room where we couldn’t sleep because of noise outside in
Pros:

Nice old listed building

Cons:

No air conditioning, electricity and water went off for 26 hours, hence no restaurant

Passable
Pros:

Great location

Cons:

Room was very outdated, windows wouldn’t open and room was stifling, single bed passable, bath plug did not quite fit properly, curtains not proprerly hooked on rail. On road so very noisy with buses, cars and Lorrys

Pros:

Grote kamers, leuk stadje en goede lokatie.

Cons:

Het is jammer dat zo’n mooi hotel zo ontzettend slecht gerenoveerd is dat de hele ziel er eigenlijk uit is. Daarnaast was het niet echt schoon, er zaten (schaam)haren in het bad.

Great location and very quaint historical building
Cons:

I loved the location and understood form photos what I was booking. The staff were all great. I have to say my friend found an AirPod in her bed and we found out that a guest before had lost there’s(vie reception log book) so we thought perhaps the linen had not been changed. The bathrooms and rooms were pretty clean but quiet a bit of dust in the cupboards. But I also understand this is historical hotel so that there can be exceptions to dust etc. I would still stay here again if i was staying in Wallingford. The experience was still great :)

Pros:

The location was excellent to see parts of the old town and the river Thames. On site parking was good. The gardens were well looked after. The beer gardens were charming.

Cons:

It was hot and we had to leave the window wide open. We were woken at 7am by noisy early risers talking loudly in the beer garden.
Fans in the room would have helped.
