Based on local tax laws, guests with a tourist visa to Israel are exempted from paying VAT for their reservation. Israeli citizens and residents ("non tourists" as defined in the VAT law) must pay VAT. This tax is automatically calculated in the total cost of the reservation for domestic customers. The room was spotless - as was the bathroom. The extras were a nice touch also. Pazit, the customer service representative we over and above for us and made sure that we were VERY well taken care of.
We stayed at the hotel for four nights as part of a group tour.
The room was large and comfortable. The bathroom, as in many hotels, was not well designed. It was difficult to get into the bathtub to take a shower, the tub was slippery, and there were no outlets. Also no tissues.
The food was pretty good, but there were some strange aspects. Desserts were sparse - only a few parve cakes and some apples. And for some strange reason, one could not get coffee, tea or hot water at dinner.
