Ocean Palms Beach Resort

The rooms are clean and ample. The grounds are beautiful and location was everything we needed. Our whole stay revolved around being in Carlsbad so we were able to walk to everything!!

I researched a trip for three months and have looked at every hotel in the Sandiego area I kept coming back to this on and I’m so thankful I did. Compared to others, this is affordable. It’s steps from the beach, most important. The village is right there for shops and food. The room itself was clean and beautiful. The pool and hot tub was relaxing. The staff are extremely friendly. I didn’t notice much noise, but it was a weekday. If you are looking for a beach vacation vibe, Don’t hesitate for three months like I did. Do it!

We have stayed at Ocean Palms Resort many times over the last 10 years, so in August we booked a 7 day stay. After our first night we inquired about an upgrade to a 2 bedroom ocean view room. Barry was a fantastic help with the upgraded room at a great rate. On day day 5 I had a medical emergency on the beach and spent 3 days in the Hospital, during this time we inquired with Barry about extending our stay for 5 more days, Barry worked it out to move us into another great room for the duration of our stay. Rugar and all the staff were so helpful and kind. This is the only place worth staying at in Carlsbad.

Our first visit to Carlsbad, California and we could not have picked a more perfect place to stay !!!!! First of all, the location is amazing…. Right on the street to the beach and steps to the stairs down !!! The rooms are great - we had a basic one bed room but it still had a full size fridge, stove, sink and cabinets and a table . The grounds of the property are so pretty - tiki heads and a very tropical paradise feel with a nice pool and areas to sit outside. At night they turn on the fire pits in a central area and there are lots of tables to join family and friends at !! In addition this is one of the few dog friendly hotels in the area and they were very accommodating! Side note : Carlsbad State Beach is not a dog friendly beach but early morning and later evening, there were quite a few leashed dogs taking walks down there. The hotel has coffee in the lobby all day and also offers a free continental style grab n go breakfast every morning. With location, amenities, and property look being so wonderful , I still have to say that one of the best qualities of this hotel is the staff they have !!! EVERY person we dealt with (and we even had the pleasure of running into the owner a couple of times :-) ) was SO friendly , so professional , so helpful, and just overall pleasures to deal with !!!! I HiGHLY recommend this place and look forward to going back !!!!!
