Ocean Palms Beach Resort

Our first visit to Carlsbad, California and we could not have picked a more perfect place to stay !!!!! First of all, the location is amazing…. Right on the street to the beach and steps to the stairs down !!! The rooms are great - we had a basic one bed room but it still had a full size fridge, stove, sink and cabinets and a table . The grounds of the property are so pretty - tiki heads and a very tropical paradise feel with a nice pool and areas to sit outside. At night they turn on the fire pits in a central area and there are lots of tables to join family and friends at !! In addition this is one of the few dog friendly hotels in the area and they were very accommodating! Side note : Carlsbad State Beach is not a dog friendly beach but early morning and later evening, there were quite a few leashed dogs taking walks down there. The hotel has coffee in the lobby all day and also offers a free continental style grab n go breakfast every morning. With location, amenities, and property look being so wonderful , I still have to say that one of the best qualities of this hotel is the staff they have !!! EVERY person we dealt with (and we even had the pleasure of running into the owner a couple of times :-) ) was SO friendly , so professional , so helpful, and just overall pleasures to deal with !!!! I HiGHLY recommend this place and look forward to going back !!!!!

We just returned from a wonderful 10-day stay at Ocean Palms Beach Resort, and we couldn't have been happier with our experience.
This is a smaller resort with a warm, welcoming atmosphere that immediately makes you feel at home. The grounds are absolutely beautiful, with lush, meticulously maintained landscaping that creates a peaceful, tropical setting. The pool and the hot tub were never busy. The location is fantastic, just steps from the beach and within easy walking distance of restaurants and shops, making it easy to enjoy everything Carlsbad has to offer.
What truly sets this resort apart is the exceptional staff. Every single person we encountered was friendly, attentive, and genuinely committed to making our stay enjoyable. Their kindness and professionalism made us feel like valued guests throughout our visit.
We travel frequently, and this was truly one of the most enjoyable hotel experiences we've had. We are already looking forward to our next visit. We highly recommend this hotel. Five stars without hesitation!

The location is amazing! Close to beach, restaurants, and shops. The room was so clean and tropical- fits the vibe. The breakfast coffee and snacks were available everyday.

I have stayed at many Beach resorts, Ocean Palms in Carlsbad was beautiful. The grounds were extremely clean and beautiful. The rooms were very nice fresh and clean feeling upon entering. The owners/staff. were very, very welcoming and friendly, I have a special needs son who has autism and down syndrome and he felt quite comfortable there on their property and with their staff. I almost didn’t want to write a review just to keep it my own little secret place lol!

The outside Feels like you’re in a mini Hawaiian resort..!

This property is the best overall family beach resort in Carlsbad. You are literally 50 feet away from the beach and hear the ocean at night. The Hawaii themed tiki carvings on palm trees and fire pits are an amazing vibe. We have a fridge and stove, plus several grills on property to cook our own meals. I love the free morning Starbucks coffee and my kids love continental breakfast pastries/ donuts. They also give you beach chairs and boogie boards free of charge! Literally the best beach resort in So-Cal.

Perfect location, steps away from the beach. Lively atmosphere in the heart of Carlsbad Village. Spacious and accommodating rooms. The ocean breeze and the sound of crashing waves made for a relaxing vacation.

The staff were welcoming and very helpful. The property was beautiful and very well maintained.
