We spent a wonderful long weekend in London at Number Sixteen, and it exceeded our expectations. The hotel enjoys an excellent location, just steps from the South Kensington Tube station and in a lovely area that's a pleasure to explore on foot.
When we arrived, our room wasn't quite what we'd expected (it was actually much bigger than anticipated, though a little too dark for our taste). The hotel manager was very flexible and happy to accommodate our preference, despite the hotel running at high occupancy. That kind of genuine service made all the difference.
The real gem is the Orangery, a small courtyard where we enjoyed breakfast each morning: a peaceful and beautiful spot to start the day.
As a Victorian townhouse, this is a small hotel with stairs and the intimate scale that comes with it, but if you're looking for a charming, beautifully decorated boutique hotel, this is the place to stay.
One small suggestion for the future: a coffee machine in the room would be a lovely touch. But that's a minor note on what was otherwise a delightful stay... we will definitely return.
Loved the decor in the bedroom. Bath ridiculously big and tall. Bathrobes. V quiet room

They take care of everything! The staff are unbelievably friendly and helpful-from late night tea to hailing cabs to fresh flowers in your room. This is truly the best hotel I have ever stayed in because of the staff. However, the rooms are also immaculate-from the distinctive decor to the comfortable bedding to the warmed towels. If I could only stay in this hotel wherever I traveled I would be so happy!!
The furnishings and bed linens were both top quality. Very comfortable bed! Lots of closet space. There was no coffee/tea service in the room but the staff delivered tea supplies and kettle to my room.
I had a single occupancy room on the top floor. There is no direct elevator service and the stairs would be difficult for someone with mobility issues. Very small bathroom.

Otroligt litet rum.
