The Astor Kolkata

I am writing my review, not because any of them asked, but i genuinely want to share my experience with them.
Sales Team -
I was already in Kolkata and had to look for hotel for a long stay, as i had to check out from previous hotel. I google searched hotels and Came across The Astor, which is in my preferred location.. I checked their website and few reviews already. After dialling the contact number provided on the website.
I came across Tanveer, he is very efficient, just one call and he made sure my booking was confirmed in less than an hour, he provided a very good rate and discounts, which i really appreciate, as my stay here was for long, Checked in on 11th March and checking out on 30th March. He is very humble and always answered my call and just saying, yes to all my requirements. Appreciate the same. we made sure to catch up also in between for few minutes. Would suggest anyone and everyone to just reach out to him for any of your bookings needs across India chains.

Atmosphere -
I think the entire hotels make you feel like you are staying in a place build from the British period, not sure how true it is. But I felt like, it can be counted as an heritage hotel, showcasing the history of Kolkata, their walls stay the stories. All corners in his hotel are photogenic/Instagram worthy.

Rooms - Very very clean and very upto the mark, extremely clean, feel the freshness of the room, once you come back from a long and busy day of work.

Party Scenes -
Phoenix - This hotel is equipped with a very nice and happening club, which comes to life from 11 pm and it goes on. There are few waiters, who are very jolly and they do dance themselves as well, full vibing. The Bartenders - they can make customized drink for you as per you need. they have got you covered.

Deck88 - if you want to go on a date or work peacefully under the sky, sitting between the varieties of plants collections they have, its just so pleasing to their eyes. you just be there, they will take care of you, anything you need, food drink, anything. In the evening, its very LIT. You will find Subhankar there to cater to any of your preference. Nice chap.

Restaurant - The breakfast menu is nice, the food quality is good, the staff working there, always smile and watch out for you. they have good spread, however, just an advice to have a few more quite bites breakfast options, its no complain but a suggestion.

Now i would like to mention a few staff members, who made me feel home, away from home.
Front Desk - Shiv, Soumya, Tina, Payal, they are professional as well as humble, you can just ask them and they will make sure it is done. Soumya, is the one who will exchange his positive energy with a smile.

Security Team - There is Balvinder Paji - he is a gem of a person, since I am travelling alone, he is like your brother is here, for anything you need. He is a sardar ji and he make sure to pass on, he given and caring nature, down to earth. He always has a listen you, anything you have to say. Thank you Pa ji. Lovely meeting you.

In Room Dining -
Khurshid Bhai & Nandlal, very very humble person, made sure i ate well, they served well, they are good at their job and always smiling.
Saptam - He explained me about all the traditional Bengali dishes, the cultural foods, it was nice to learn about the tradition and cultural food.
Kapil - Taking care for my very late night in-room food orders. and requests.

House keeping -
Many of us underestimate them, but it is because of them you mood is light and relaxed, when you enter your room. They make sure that feel home away from home and make sure to have a clean and fresh room.
The house keeping team that were taking care of my room, they made sure to leave sweet message on a post it, some motivating, some uplifting, and that to hand written. It is a very small thing, but it definitely, makes you smile and its very thoughtful of them. I really really appreciate all their efforts, they are best at what they are doing.
I use to have a good night sleep, on the clean sheets and extra pillows.
If i needed anything extra, they made sure i have it.
once they know what you need and how much, they make sure from the next day you wont have to call and ask them for it, they keep it ready when you return to your room.
Soumitra, Gopal ji, Sheikh Lalbabu - Heartfelt thank you to all of you. There are a few more, but i never caught their name. I am sorry if i missed out any one, but i mean all of this for all of you.

Location - I would highly suggest people to book you stay her, I am not very aware of the Kolkata streets, but for sure this is located in the centre and well connected to all places.

They also, gave be a box of sweets as a thank you gesture, it was a very nice gesture. :)

I will make sure, if i Visit Goa, i will stay at their property in Goa as well.

Food was excellent.Liked the way We all were greeted.
We four of us from same family came for lunch.
The persons who took the orders and served the food was excellent.
Would like to mention specially for Atanu,Suman,Sudip and Krishnendu all four were excellent.God bless them.

Great hotel. Quiet, nice clean rooms. Good breakfast. Staff really accommodating and helpful. Great location and good value.

Good Food ,Good Service .Rooms were quite spacious, clean and the Air-conditioning could be controlled within the roomm

An amazing place to stay and value for money

The hotel was Worth the amount i paid

Absolutely perfect, just what we were looking for. Super comfortable rooms after days of walking and roaming. Plenty of space in the rooms, lovely water pressure, Western-style toilets, solid AC, friendly and helpful staff (no language issues), and a restaurant attached for included breakfast. Centrally located and within walking distance to lots of food, shopping, and tourist sites. Not as noisy as some of the previous reviews would suggest, though we were not there on a weekend. Literally could not ask for anything more and will ABSOLUTELY be staying here in the future.

Very good location and customer friendly staff. The rooms are clean and house keeping was excellent.

A love letter to hospitality.

The hospitality and atmosphere of this hotel (The Astor) is incredibly fantabulous. The staff (Rupashree, Debasish, Sujan & Olivia) were really welcoming. We loved our stay here and to be very honest, this is what a customer wants - good hospitality, luxury with elegance & uniqueness, this hotel has it all.

Nice Heritage Home Ambience with Very good staff namel Rahul sinha,Ataullah Gopal, Jagdish; All Restaurant staff and Joy at the Reception.

Nice hotel and the housekeeping staff Avijeet, Rony, and Jamir were very friendly and good at their job. The restaurant food was also amazing!

Great hospitality w/ Roni, Avijit, Jamir and the rest of the staff. Stayed here for a few days. Great service over all and very clean.

Clean and well-appointed rooms in a heritage property. Housekeeping is timely and on-point. Located centrally near Park Street with an old world charm that is hard to come by in other parts of India. I was worried about noise from the nightclub on the ground floor, but it seems they have nothing going on most days of the week - perhaps weekends are noisier.

Shoutout to Rahul and Avijit who were in-charge of housekeeping for the duration of my stay.

The staff were extremely polite, professional, and attentive, making us feel genuinely welcomed. Check-in and check-out were super smooth and hassle-free, which is always a big plus.
The dining experience was wonderful — great quality food, well-presented, and thoroughly enjoyable.
Overall, a luxurious and elegant stay with excellent service. Highly recommended for anyone looking to experience heritage hospitality in Kolkata.
Special mention to the receptionists Tina and Payal — they were exceptionally courteous, helpful, and ensured the entire experience was seamless from arrival to departure.
