Hotel Stadt Wien

Location was just a 10 minute walk down to the lake and old town, the family run hotel was excellent, nice little touches like names on tables, the staff were very helpful, and we made use of the free tickets to the, cable car and boat trip,you can use bikes for free too, they even wished my wife a happy birthday the day after we left, so they remembered, we felt that they really wanted to make you feel welcome from the start highly recommend staying here if you are in zell am see

From the moment we checked in, with a warm greeting we received until the day we departed our experience at Hotel Stadt Wien was exceptional. The staff throughout could not do enough for you, they were attentive, polite, warm and friendly. The food was excellent and although the booking was half board it really is full board as light lunch provided, alternatively you can make your own packed lunch for the day. Homemade cake served in the afternoon also. Our room was very comfortable and immaculate. The facilities of the spa, free bike hire and even the petting zoo were great for all the family to enjoy. The added bonus of the Summer card made our whole holiday one of the best we’ve experienced and we plan to return next year. Thank you to all the staff at the hotel for helping us to have an amazing holiday. X

What a lovely hotel ! We loved every minute, Staff were wonderful could not do enough to make your stay memorable. Room we had was 301 and comes with a large balcony. Food was great and a good variety , changed every evening. Loved the cake in the afternoon. Loved that the owners were hands on in the running of a well "oiled ship" Well done to you all XX

Excellent hotel. Room, food, staff were all wonderful. I can't fault the hotel in any way. The summer card and mobility card enabled us to enjoy the area to the full. Our grateful thanks goes to all at the hotel

Extremely attentive and friendly staff. Excellent hotel, very clean.
The hotel is positioned close to town centre only 400m walk.
Very comfortable, spacious rooms, with spa facilities and swimming pool.
Buffet and meals were very good.
Also available, you could take rolls, meats, cheeses and salads for lunch every day and not forgetting the cakes in the afternoon.
Overall, a lovely weeks holiday.

The Hotel Stadt Wien is absolutely fabulous. Staff are amazing.

Excellent hotel. Room was spotless, cleaned well daily. The shower gel, soap and shampoo provided smelled gorgeous like a summer meadow. The food is amazing with something for everyone. Very good buffet breakfast and various options at night either from the buffet or the kitchen. You can also pack a packed lunch at breakfast time. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Nice garden area for kids with some animals like sheep, goats, donkeys and rabbits. We didn't visit the pool area as we were out and about as there is lots to do and see in the surrounding areas, but it looked lovely. Local bus easy to get to and work out where you want to go. The hotel gives you a summer card which saves a fortune as it gives free travel on the bus, cable cars, boats on the lake and entrances to attractions. Excellent holiday would recommend 👌.

Just back from a brilliant holiday in Zell Am See. The Stadt Wien is a truly amazing family run hotel. The staff are brilliant from the reception through to the restaurant. The food was really good quality and plentiful.

This was our second year in a row staying at Hotel Stadt Wien, and honestly, that says it all. We wouldn’t return if it wasn’t special — and it truly is.
From the warm welcome from Klaus and Christine and their team to the attention to detail throughout the hotel. The atmosphere is cozy and relaxing, yet still polished and high‑quality. The rooms are spotless and comfortable, and the facilities are exactly what you want after a day on the slopes (especially the pool and spa area!)
The staff deserve a special mention — friendly, professional, and helpful. The food choice is fantastic, with plenty of options and high-quality produce (even my 2 fussy kids loved it!). One of the highlights of this hotel for me is being able to ski home from Schmitten after your day on the slops, it's truly magical. My kids are already telling me that they are looking forward to year 3 at Hotel Stadt Wien!

From the moment we arrived to when we left the staff couldn't do anymore to make our stay more enjoyable. All the staff are fantastic, very friendly and helpful. Yvonne on the front desk was exceptionally good, she organised everything for our daughter, and looked after us.

The hotel is pristine, the food is varied and great quality, the spa and pool is really lovely and our room was very spacious we had a junior suite with balcony.

Just got back me and dad yesterday from Stadt Whine hotel and it was absolutely brilliant, family owners, staff where so nice/helpful/friendly/happy.. food was unbelievable breakfast and meals, I'm vegetarian and the chef made really nice meals for me.. hotel was so nice with so much space, the bar was great with tall seats and tables and spoke to most people at them. Would definitely recommend it and would love to go back in summer....

The hotel & facilities are spotless, including the pool & sauna areas.
Staff go out of their way to make sure your stay is enjoyable, from booking ski lessons to sourcing pillows.
The boot room is easily accessible from the hotel and the bus stop to take you to the gondola is just across the road.
As previously stated the food is plentiful & very good. The bar area just off the restaurant is welcoming & comfortable.
I have to give a special shout out to a member of staff, Wendy. who worked in the restaurant serving our table, for whom nothing was ever too much trouble.
If you like a family run hotel, with a warm welcome & exceptional service this is the hotel for you.

We've just had a week skiing at this hotel and the staff were out of this world, so attentive and caring. The hotel was spotlessly clean and the food never disappointed. Loved the new pool and spa area, the park and petting farm were an additional bonus. We had an issue whilst staying here with my 3 year old daughter who was ill and the staff simply couldn't do enough for us.

If I had to be super fussy and pick a fault (just so you know this is a real review and not computer generated one) we had the "Kinder Package" with our room which is the best we've ever come across with having a young child with us. Baby bath/Cot and/or small bed/Changing Mat/Extra Towels/Nappy Bin/Potty (we didn't book any of this, they just knew we had a young child with us) etc etc, one and only one thing that could have made it better is a child's toilet seat, but like I say I'm being ultra picky here.

The BIG question, would we stay again? Absolutely
Our friends are currently re-booking to go back in the summer.

Hotel Stadt Wien was a great family owned hotel. Excellent breakfast, Happy Hour and dinners. The staff is outstanding. Take the bus from right outside the door up to the gondolas and ski right to the door at the end of the day!!! Great spa and pool area to relax after a day of skiing.

From the moment we arrived early there was great attention to detail. This is lead by Christine & Klaus who own and run the hotel and inspire really good guest experience. The hotel is modern, well maintained and the bedrooms very thoughtfully presented, the guest can feel really relaxed. The food on offer in the hotel is of exceptional standard and the offering is very generous. The spa is a lovely treat to enjoy after skiing. We look forward to returning .

Second time here done think there’s anything I can fault wonderful food love the pool area nice comfortable rooms wonderful staff lovely owners x my husband and his friend love the beaver😂

Fantastic stay with children for ski trip.

We arrived late on a Saturday evening. Dinner was prepared for us which was very tasty.
Our room was adequate. Family room with double bed and pull out sofa bed.
Not a lot of cupboard space and a bit cluttered but no different from most hotels.
Breakfast was fantastic as was dinner. More than enough food and choice.
Afternoon tea was also really good, not just cake but bread and cheese and even a savory option like rice or soup.
The staff were really friendly and helpful.
Ski bus stop was just across the road and you could ski back to the hotel via a blue run

We got our boot and skis downstairs in the hotel. I would say get there as early as possible as by the time we got fitted there was limited selection of boots.

Pool was great for the kids.
There was also a kid play room downstairs where there could disappear to before and after dinner.

In summary I would highly recommend the hotel.

Ski area was good for us with young children but not particularly big, although you could go to Saalbach and the kaprun glacier which we didn't do as was a short bus journey. Ski school was excellent
