Pros:

La localisation assez centrale dans Dempasar, la gentillesse du personnel, qui a accepté de garder notre sac à dos pour quatre jours (nous avons redormi une nuit à cet hôtel ensuite), la piscine très agréable

Le petit-déjeuner c'était pas incroyable

Pros:

Historic Bali hotel in Denpasar with great food from Warung Sinta and service from Mahendra and Selvey ! Also had guided tour from manager Mr Ketut of room 50 where Indian PM Nehru did stay in late 1950s. Good Swimming pool also.

Elegant Historic Hotel in the Heart of Bali
Pros:

Elegant old hotel in the heart of Denpasar. Beautiful grounds, Dutch colonial buildings. Lovely staff, so kind and helpful. Great place for an extended stay. Relaxed atmosphere. Good internet connection. Bathtubs in every room. Nice, inexpensive restaurant in the front. This is an old school Indonesian hotel, not a trendy "experience", but a piece of living history. Notably; Pres. Soekarno stayed here, as did Chatlie Chaplin and many others. This hotel is mostly favored by domestic travelers. The location is fantastic. In the fascinating historic city center of Denpasar, there is a lot to see and do at every turn, great restaurants, and loads of fine cafes thronging with young Indonesians. It's a great jumping off point for destinations all around Central Bali - easy to get to Kuta, Ubud, Sanur and major roads to more remote destinations.

The staff were friendly.

Cons:

The cleanliness of this hotel is unfortunately not up to standard. Dirty sheets and the bathroom had rubbish in bin when we arrived and was dirty. We did not use shower for this reason during our stay.

Cons:

The place is tired and needs updating. The shower over the bath was not very good. The first room we stayed in wasn't very clean. The bedding didn't look or smell clean. The shower was cold.Also in a very dark position. Around 9pm a male member of staff unlocked our door and entered the room. He said sorry and left How could he possibly get the wrong room and have a key to enter. It has a number on the wall. I think he may have been using the room especially with the bed not smelling very clean on the pillows. Told reception the next day and they just apologised but gave no explanation. Moved to another room which was brighter but still needs updating especially the bathroom.
The pool only had 3 sunbeds.
