Mai Chau Ecolodge provides a round-trip shuttle service to and from Hanoi at an extra charge of USD 25 per person. Shuttle service runs between Mai Chau Ecolodge and Hanoi Opera House, Hanoi Old Quarter, following the schedule below:
- Hanoi to Lodge: 8:00 to 8:30
- Lodge to Hanoi: 14:00
Please arrive early so as not to miss the shuttle.
Please provide your hotel's name and address if you would like to use this shuttle service. As seats are limited, this is a first-come-first-served reservation. Guests are recommended to inform the property of your requirements immediately upon booking to avoid disappointment.

De locatie was prachtig met weids uitzicht op de rijstvelden. Kamer was mooi en authentiek.
Het restaurant was goed met lekker eten en hele vriendelijke bediening.
Je zit in de natuur dus je hebt wel beesten op de kamer, bij ons onder andere een huntsman spin.
De ontvangst bij de receptie kan wel wat vriendelijker. Sowieso kan het receptiepersoneel wel wat vriendelijker zijn. Daarnaast hoef je ook niet luxe service te verwachten aangezien het vier sterren is.
Bij het zwembad mag wel wat meer aandacht besteed worden aan overlast en het opruimen van handdoeken en glazen e.d. Er waren namelijk meerdere grote groepen en grote families met kleine kinderen die extreem veel geluid maakten. Hier werd niets van gezegd. Dit past toch niet bij een rustige ecolodge.

The location in the middle of the rice field was really nice. Free access to bikes to explore the surroundings. Nice staff though our first contact at the lobby was pretty cold compared to the previous ecolodges and resorts we stayed in Vietnam.
Our two bungalows had a direct view on a huge electrical pillar. This is not what we were expecting as 'garden view', and rice field view. Sunday evening was also very noisy: a homestay located closed by played music very loudly till midnight.
Finally, During our stay, the Mai Chau ecolodge hosted a group of teenagers from France (our home country by the way). Those youngsters were very noisy, impolite and disrespectful both with the vietnamese culture and other customers. Not the fault of the ecolodge but I would have not expected such an ecolodge to host group of teenagers. Overall,. Not the best experience we had in Vietnam.
Very beautiful room. We had two rooms connected with a door, and also a shared terrace. It was quite busy in the area, and many people passing by, cheering, singing etc, so more lively than quiet during the day.
We borrowed bikes and discovered the nearby towns, also very nice.

L endroit est joli et vert. Le petit déjeuner est bien. La vue est super.
Vieillissant.... Ressemble plus a un club de vacances bon marché qu à un hôtel de charme... l'eau de la piscine est trouble. La chambre est décevante. Les gens peuvent vous voir prendre votre douche extérieure...
Les bungalows perchés dans la nature ont tous une vue magnifique et envoûtante. Ceux avec piscine privée sont top.
Le restaurant est très bon bien qu’un peu cher.

La ubicación y las vistas con posibilidad de andar entre los arrozales y visitar, andando o con bici los pueblos cercanos donde se puede cenar, etc. Hacen un espectáculo de danza muy agradable por la noche.
Los cuartos no están muy aislados y se cuelan ranitas y otros animales. Los baños son de madera y con el agua y la humedad están un poco descuidados. A las mosquiteras tampoco les vendría mal un buen lavado.
I honestly wanted to keep this place a secret because it was one of the most incredible places I’ve ever stayed. The setting is absolutely breathtaking, surrounded by mountains and rice fields, with such a peaceful atmosphere. The staff were genuinely warm, kind and always smiling, making us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. Our bungalow was beautiful, spotless and full of character, and the food was excellent. Waking up to the views each morning was something we’ll never forget. It felt authentic, relaxing and far away from the crowds. If you’re looking for the real Vietnam, this is it.
Absolutely nothing worth mentioning. If anything, I only wish we had stayed longer. Two nights simply wasn’t enough to enjoy everything this special place has to offer.

Les chambres sont belles, confortables et spacieuses, la vue est magnifique! La piscine est superbe. La nourriture excellente!
La dernière journée, à sept heures un dimanche matin, des ouvriers travaillaient sur le toit de notre chalet. Le bruit nous a réveillés et les ouvriers ont pris leur pause sur notre balcon au moment où nous aurions souhaité profiter de la vue une dernière fois.
