Nice decor dining room
Nothing!
Room was dilapidated, the bathroom unfinished, carpets worn and dirty. The corridor had no carpeting - just loose boarding. Dinner was a disaster - trout was hard and inedible, fish in ‘fish & chips’ were tainted and peas were still partly frozen, burger was dry and overcooked and the pigeon breast was burnt as were the supposed mixed vegetables. The unfinished car park had the owner’s Ferrari, Rolls-Royce and Defender there so it’s obvious they are looking after themselves but not the hotel and certainly not the guests.

My room was not clean. I found what I hoped was facial hair all over the sink and glass self above it, the toilet and toilet brush wasn’t clean. The bed side table wasn’t clean. Food is overpriced; I had a flat iron steak for £31.50, it wasn’t served as I would expect and it wasn’t tender.
Tranquil location
The dinner and breakfast options were great and full of flavour. The overall feel was cosy and had friendly guests.
Dinner was great when it arrived but had a 45/50min wait and after a 20mins wait was told my dish had sold out. I gave the team a pass there was a function on and was told there could be delays. The staff were smily and helpful.
