A little Bavarian hideaway!
Pros:

We loved the setting of this hotel - right on the mountainside with goats/cows with the iconic ringing bells. It really felt like we’d stepped into a fairytale. Overlooking at Abbey and down the road from Linderhof, it’s a really good spot for exploring.

The room was very clean and comfortable. There’s staff were really friendly and polite too.

It’s an old-fashioned style Bavarian pine lodge - it was very welcoming and we loved our stay!

Cons:

It’s a fantastic location for exploring, but you really must have a car - you can’t really come here on public transport. Also, there are not many options for bars and restaurants nearby, so we ended up driving into Garmisch and Oberammergau. The hotel does have a lovely restaurant and the food looked delicious, but we have allergies and diet tray requirements, which limited our options.

Our room was extremely clean and comfortable, but there were two (very minor) issues:

- The toilet seat lid didn’t seem to fit correctly and was a little loose (but it was clean!).

- The shower head was attached to a post on the wall and it kept sliding down. I managed to figure a way of making it work, but it needs tightening.

- There’s no tea and coffee facilities in the room. It had a chargeable mini-bar and some water, but there’s no kettle etc.

However, this would not put me off staying again - it was a top noch Bavarian stay in the mountains and we loved every minute!

Schöne Lage, gute Sauna

Cons:

Zu viele Türen, praktisch alle zwei Meter. Das Warten auf das Essen im Restaurant war sehr lang, und das Essen war nicht lecker.
