Right in the heart of downtown Astoria. You can walk just about all of the main downtown from the hotel.
It's a cute hotel. Was met by the owner on our arrival. Cute coffee shop attached with a great breakfast.
As many reviews state - it's loud. It's an older hotel and they have been working on sound proofing, but the street outside isn't something I can do much about.
The bad for me was leaving my credit card at the restaurant. This is 100% my fault, but I called after driving an hour away. No one at the hotel or restaurant called me back. I called and wrote an email and 2 days later heard something. As I know the owner was there this seemed like dropping the ball on the customer service end.
It was in a convenient location and close to several shops and restaurants.
It doesn't make it clear that there isn't a bathroom attached to the room, only a sink in the room. You have to go to the first floor in order to use the bathroom or shower. The room was small. Parking was hard to find. Not suited for people checking in after 9 pm, as you get fined a late check in fee.

The rooms were great, and it was nice to have the passcode to our room be associated with our phone number when checking in, making the entire process pretty easy and seamless to get into our room and finally sit down after such a long drive.
My only complaint about this hotel is the atrocious parking situation. Once we got to Astoria, we probably circled the block the hotel was on for half an hour, through busy one-way streets packed with pedestrians that made it super stressful to find anywhere to park! We ended up parking about a 5-8 min walk away from the hotel, which was the closest we could find after about half an hour, and then had to drag our luggage (2 Rucks and two backpacks) to the hotel.
The room was comfortable, affordable, and in an excellent location. I had a short stay but was able to walk everywhere I needed to go. The room was not only cozy and affordable, but it also boasted a prime location. During my short stay, I appreciated how easy it was to walk to all the attractions and places I needed to visit.
The room only had bright overhead lighting; a secondary lamp or dimmable lighting would have enhanced my experience.

Beds and linens were horrible. Noisy paper thin walls and windows. Staff was off site most of the time.
Drunks screaming on the sidewalk below until 4am. This is a no sleep hotel.

Parking was the only downside and garbage trucks in the morning. Otherwise loved it!
I only wished I was able to stay longe in the morning when The Strand restaurant opened at 8am. But I swung back later to use my free coffee card and bought some nice soup in the afternoon
Atmosphere, location, reasonable rates, friendly staff.
On Sunday morning there wasn't enough clean cups at the coffee station.
