We reizen veel en slapen daarom regelmatig in hotels, ook in Frankrijk. Maar zoiets hebben we nog nooit meegemaakt.

Bij aankomst werd ons gevraagd om €400 borg te betalen voor één kamer voor één nacht. We zijn vervolgens het bedrag gaan pinnen, maar toen bleek het bedrag ineens €500 te zijn. Hierdoor ontstond er een discussie en kregen wij onze kamersleutel niet.

Omdat we ons hier absoluut niet prettig bij voelden, wilden we vertrekken. We kregen ons geld echter ook niet terug, omdat we via Booking.com hadden geboekt en niet rechtstreeks bij het hotel. Volgens het hotel moesten we hiervoor contact opnemen met Booking.com.

Omdat we ons opgelicht voelden en er op dat moment geen oplossing kwam, hebben we de politie gebeld. Wij waren namelijk niet op de hoogte gebracht van een borg van €400 (blijkbaar staat dit ergens heel vaag aangegeven) en vervolgens kregen we ook ons geld niet terug.

Samen met de politie zijn we er uiteindelijk toch uitgekomen en hebben ze de borg van €400 aangenomen.

Wat de situatie nog erger maakte, is dat we ook door het personeel zijn bedreigd. Er werd tegen ons gezegd dat ze ons in elkaar wilden slaan, terwijl wij daar met een kind waren. Dit was ontzettend beangstigend en totaal onacceptabel. Je verwacht als vakantieganger dat je je veilig kunt voelen in een hotel, maar bij dit hotel hadden wij juist het tegenovergestelde gevoel.

Daarnaast zouden we een kamer krijgen met onder andere een balkon en andere voorzieningen die bij de boeking werden vermeld. In werkelijkheid kregen we de slechtste kamer van het hotel. Zie ook de foto’s.

De douche was beschimmeld en ook in de kamer was schimmel aanwezig. Daarnaast hadden we alleen koud water.

Alsof dat nog niet genoeg was, was de lift tijdens ons verblijf ook nog eens defect. Hierdoor moesten we meerdere keren naar de vierde verdieping lopen.

Al met al hebben we nog nooit zo’n slechte ervaring gehad met een hotel.
