I was most impressed with the hotel. The room was excellant.. two comments.. add tissue boxes by the bed stand.. and a waste basket in the toilet room. If you really want to be a destination resort.. add a fine dining experience either on property or adjacent. Where one did not need to take the car service. thank you Harriet
There is absolutely nothing to share but positive reviews for this hotel. The rooms are spacious wiht beautiful views, a soaking tub, a fireplace and balcony. The aminities were Aveda, my favorite. We received a $25 gift certificate to the bar/restaurant and had a fabulous charcuterie board and drinks. The services, from front desk to chauffeur, was incredible. My only negative was the surrounding area. We took the free bikes on the path right outside of the hotel and along the water and had to pass several encampments for individuals that were unhoused. We saw a drug deal and human feces. However, I NEVER felt unsafe in the hotel and the addition of the chauffeur allows for safer travel. It's not a hotel problem; Astoria is clearly dealing with a signficant issue.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We set out on a mission to make the most of the amenities and were not disappointed. The rides into town in their vintage 1962 Rambler added a touch of glamor to our evening out. We made it back in time to enjoy a delicious cocktail with the dazzling sunset views. The Finnish sauna at 9pm was a delightful way to kick off a relaxing night in. The salt water hot tub was undergoing maintenance, but the clawfoot tub in our room with views over the Columbia (apparently standard in every room) was a more than acceptable substitute. We didn’t stick to our plan of taking the cruisers for a cycle around town, but we did enjoy a delicious, complimentary breakfast of made-to-order omelets, home fries, fresh fruit and surprisingly delicious breakfast pastries. It was a truly wonderful stay and we can’t wait for our next one.
If you are planning a trip to Astoria, the Cannery Pier Hotel & Spa is an absolute must-stay. Built on a historic pier extending 600 feet over the Columbia River, this boutique luxury hotel perfectly balances modern comfort with the rich, industrial history of the Oregon Coast.
From the moment you walk into the lobby, the service is standout. The staff is phenomenal — incredibly welcoming, attentive, and eager to share local recommendations to help you get the most out of your stay in Astoria.
The hotel strikes a perfect balance between sleek modernity and cozy charm. The rooms are beautifully updated, spacious, and designed to maximize the spectacular views. Waking up to watch massive cargo ships glide past your private balcony is an unforgettable experience. The attention to detail in the rooms, from the high-end finishes to the cozy fire features, makes it hard to leave the property.
Perhaps the most unique highlight of the stay is their complimentary shuttle service. Instead of a generic van, the hotel transports you into town in vintage chauffeured cars. Getting a ride to dinner in a beautifully restored classic automobile adds an element of old-school romance and fun that you simply won't find anywhere else.
Between the prime waterfront location, the top-tier service, and the unique touches like the vintage shuttle fleet,
Cannery Pier Resort elevates a standard weekend getaway into something truly special.
Great stay would definitely go back!
This is the second time we’ve been to the Cannery Pier, and we will go again! The location is breathtaking. The rooms are well equipped and the beds comfortable. This time we stayed in one of the suites on the third floor and last time we stayed in a studio on the first floor.
Truth be told, we actually preferred the studio on the first floor. We liked the bathroom better.—more space at the sink, and the room simply felt more cozy than the suite. The sitting area in the suite had incredibly uncomfortable furniture. When you’re in a beautiful spot with an incredible view, and you just want to hang out in your room from time to time, it would be nice if you weren’t sitting on very hard furniture, and it would be lovely if you had something other than skinny armrests to lean on. I guess it’s the style now? But why does style have to be uncomfortable?
Other than that, the folks there are wonderful, the services provided are great, and my husband made good use of the gym while I got a lovely massage. We will be back!
We loved this hotel and our stay but we started our experience annoyed. We arrived at the front desk at 3:55pm. We were told our room wasn’t ready and check in is at 4pm. I asked if we could have a seat and come back up in 5minutes at 4pm. The front desk lady said “Well no because your room will still won’t be ready and there are people waiting ahead of you.” This was after she couldn’t find my reservation and asked me several times for my name, then asked me if my name is Jim… no… my name isn’t Jim, it’s Sarah. Sigh. I went back up at 4:20pm when another clerk was there and she gave me my room key. Not how we wanted to start our stay, the room made up for it though
Another amazing stay at Cannery Pier Hotel and they've even upgraded since we were last there - even more amazing! The location, the view and rooms, the guest services team are all just fabulous. What a unique and beautiful setting on the edge of the water, watching the huge ships go by. Tranquil, refreshing and oh so pampered, we cannot wait to return to stay again! Cheers!
Fantastic staff and beautiful view.
This charming boutique hotel is nestled right over the water in Astoria, Oregon. It offers a fantastic vantage point to watch the ships gracefully glide through the Columbia River, under the awe-inspiring Astoria-Megler bridge—the longest continuous truss bridge in North America.
For dinner, I was transported to and from town in a vintage Rolls Royce.
The staff here is exceptionally friendly and helpful. Staying in hotels for work is not a lot of fun, but staying here is a real treat. We especially enjoyed the ships going by at anytime of day or night. The hotel is very quiet and peaceful. It’s a place where you can leave your worries behind and relax.
Lovely hotel with great views of the river and ships. Staff was awsome. Best layout of rooms.
Room was great and very clean with a great river view. We have recommended your fine establishment to family and friends. You will see us agin for sure.
This place is a gem 💎 in Astoria. The views are amazing, and the service too. If you go to Astoria for a quick escapade, this is the place to go.
Incredible views. Entire staff is friendly and accomodating.
Outstanding run hotel with amenities that are more than expected.
Nice location. Quiet hotel. Nice staff.
The location is perfect.clean and beautiful room overlooking the river
Nothing
Excellent, excellent, everything. The rooms, the views. The small touches - like caramels, views from the shower! , the binoculars, the ship schedule, the evening bar credit - wonderful.
The hot tub is out of commission and may be a while until it is repaired.
They occasionally run specials on room rates. We made our reservation several months earlier, called a few weeks before arrival and got our rates lowered. We appreciated that as it was on the edge of our budget range. Special thanks for that.
