The size of the room was excellent and included a balcony with a lovely view. There was a desk with power points nearby, tea/coffee facilities, and given the hot weather there was a portable air conditioner in the room as well as a ceiling fan. The staff were very friendly, helpful and efficient. The natural setting is very attractive, and it is a beautiful historic bulding that has links with the artist Turner.
The mobile phone signal was weak and unreliable. There was free WiFi but this also was a bit weak in my room. The bathroom was set up as a wet room, but the water from the shower was slow to drain away and most of the bathroom floor was covered with water after a shower. The positive aspects of the room by far outweighed these fairly minor issues.
Excellent food, friendly staff, comfortable bed. Liked having a fridge, quality toiletries and towels. Great location and quiet. Good to have parking.
The room and corridor was very hot - there was a ceiling fan - but other areas of the hotel were a lot cooler.
Excellent accommodation
Relaxing room at very reasonable price. Looking out from balcony at 200 year old oak tree. Nice options to sit outside, helpful staff, vegan afternoon tea was delicious.
Beautiful building
Lots of noise from evening events/parties in the conference room. Don’t put a family with a small child in the room above the beer garden.
The restaurant has declined significantly. It’s not a brasserie any longer. It’s average food and service with paper napkins for an extra kick.
It’s very hot in the room even on a moderately hot day (23-25) with no AC and despite 3 fans this wasn’t effective.

Ligging op half uurtje van de ferry in Harwich. Mooi karaktervol gebouw. Mooi en modern bijgebouw waar we verbleven. Uitetmate goede bedden.
Mooie en ruime kamers. Men maakte gaarne ontbijtboxes omdat we vertrokken voordat ontbijt werd geserveerd
Buiyen wad het 37 graden celsius. Er wad geen airco op de kamer. De plafondventilayor wad kapot. Men had staande ventilator neergezet die weliswaar verkoelde als je in de luchtstroom stond, maar de temperatuur in de kamer bleef onaangenaam hoog.

The hotel was EXTREMELY hot. There’s a ceiling fan in the room and a portable air conditioning unit but these were noisy and not 100% effective during the warm weather conditions.
There were LOTS of flies. They were crawling all over the uncovered breakfast buffet food, crockery and cutlery and landing on guests and their food as they tried to eat.
