The staff were very attentive

Breathtaking building, mediocre breakfast, try to get a modern room if possible
Pros:

The property was lovely, and the bathroom in the room was absolutely great. Also everything was very clean.

Cons:

The room itself was not great, we were in one of the old rooms, no A/C on a very hot day, there were three fans in the room but that was not enough. The breakfast was not as plentiful as you would find in a chain hotel and the quality was just ok. For the price difference to the Holiday Inn or Delta you’d expect far better quality.

Would recommend if enjoy being out of the business of some urban sites.
Pros:

Suited us and area we wanted to visit. University campus site interesting. Was quiet and comfortable. Staff were good.

Nivce enough for a few days but quite expensive.
Pros:

The hotel is in lovely grounds and the rooms themselves are clean and have good facilities. The reception staff were very helpful.

Cons:

The breakfast is pretty basic compared to the price point.

Glorious!
Pros:

The staff couldn't be more helpful and were very hospitable. The hotel itself is glorious and even though I was there for work, I'd love to stay again for pleasure.

Pros:

Very nice hotel with interesting WW2 history well presented. Nice restaurant food. A little remote, out of town on a Uni campus - but that's a bonus if you want a quiet night. Not so good for exploring Colchester.

Cons:

Nothing - it was a great stay for me.
