Pros:

you only get 18 dollars for a breakfast vouchers and it costs 21 to get bacon and eggs. I thought this was foolish, being that there aren't many options for a hearty breakfast under 18. also, it has to be charged to your room and they wont charge your card for room service.

Cons:

not being able to pay online fo rmy breakfast and having it sent up to my room instead of being charged to my hotel room. it's kind of a gray area is you use affirm or klarna to book your stay, because what happens then?

Central location but somewhat seedy at night
Pros:

Great location in the center of the city. Cool art in the lobby.

Cons:

Valet parking is $35. I thought I would park in the street but a number of homeless people were begging within yards of the hotel.

Pros:

The property was beautiful. The staff was excellent! They were extremely helpful and friendly.

Cons:

in our room... small holes in the sheets, the glass table was so wobbly we could not use it, the coffee machine was very loud and there was mold in the glass shower along the floor. we were in room 311.

Fine hotel room, would not stay again
Pros:

The room is very clean and has everything you need from a hotel room. Toiletries are top notch.

Cons:

The main reason for the lower rating is that they had a maintenance team doing lock checks at 10pm. This meant that I was woken up by a knock on my door at 10pm, and heard a man outside my door saying "I just want you to know that I'm not trying to get in" followed by someone pressing a keycard against my door repeatedly and hearing the lock shift. When I called the front desk to make sure that this was actually a maintenance person, they called him immediately which I appreciate, but I heard him continue to knock on doors, including mine for a second time after the call. Could be a one off but just super weird and unsettling experience as a woman alone in a hotel room. I put a chair against the door and bolted every night after that.

Great stay - Friendly staff, big room, and perfect location
Pros:

right downtown, super friendly staff, really nice and big room, great gym (even has sauna and steam room). I appreciate the Elkay water filling station in lobby. And the art in the lobby is actually really cool and inspiring. Definitely will back.

We always love the vibe and location of the hotel.
Pros:

Very unique.

Cons:

The gentleman working in reception was not very friendly when we noticed we were booked for 2 rooms.
It was later resolved, but his cocky demeanor left us very disappointed.

Decent place to stay, close to restaurants and Carolina Theater.
Pros:

We valet parked since we knew we did not need to drive anywhere since so many things are within walking distance of the hotel. Check in was quick and easy, the staff was friendly. The elevator came quickly. Our room was clean, the shower had plenty of hot water and a good shower head. The only comment we have is the noise level in our room as the walls seemed thin and we could hear everything the family with children next to us were saying. But they quieted down in the evening so it was fine. Also, they had some interesting art pieces in the lobby.

Lovely staff service, excellent food and art, and proximity to many destinations in downtown Durham.
Pros:

I loved Chef Melanie’s new summer menu, the “brekky” biscuit, the French toast, the shakshuka, and the yogurt bowl! I was impressed with the local fruit used in the breakfasts. Tassia explained how it really is farm to table in this restaurant and also arranged something special for me. Sarah was extra diligent on my first morning. Tommy was a knowledgable and entertaining server. He explained the art in the restaurant. Guess which one is made out of Lego-you will be surprised! Matthew at the front desk was gracious and welcoming and in my chat with Devon at the front door we discussed the new professional women’s softball game which I attended. My room was spacious, with a 180 degree view of downtown. Especially for the thunderstorm! The art in the museum gallery was stunning, heartbreaking and surprising. New takes on sustainability, labor history, and which artists we choose to elevate. My room smelled fresh and the lighting artfully divided the room into zones. Housekeeping was responsive. Great use of a renovated bank building.

Cons:

Having a custom blend coffee is cool, but maybe add a darker roast option for visiting Seattle coffee nerds?

A beautiful hotel with outstanding staff and valet service, but the disappointing breakfast service.
Pros:

I want to recognize that the hotel staff and valet service were exceptional. Every interaction I had with them was friendly, professional, and welcoming. They truly deserve recognition for the outstanding service they provided. The food was excellent.

Cons:

Unfortunately, my breakfast experience was extremely disappointing. I waited nearly an hour for my food while multiple parties who arrived after me were seated, served, and finished eating before my order was even taken. I was also left waiting over 30 minutes for a glass of water that was offered when I was seated. The restaurant was not busy, so the lack of attention was inexcusable. It's unfortunate that such poor service overshadowed an otherwise excellent stay.
