Nicko and Angela are the best of the best in their roles as host and care takers of this charming establishment
The four course breakfast is an experience in itself.
Angela and Nicko go above and beyond to make sure their guest have the best experiences while visiting old town Rhodes.
I cant wait to return.
The is an AMAZING and ANAZINGLY RUN boutique hotel. Ideally located at one of the gates of the old city in Rhodes, with an amazing atmosphere, comfortable rooms and the most fantastic team that makes Kokkini Porta Rosa the very emanation of a boutique hotel. Totally personalized (no, I seriously mean the most personalized experience we ever had in a hotel). The owners Nikos and Angela and Giulia are making sure you get the ultimate out of your stay on the island. They have literally gone every extra mile in any direction to make sure that we get the best possible experience for our stay. Nikos is a treasure of knowledge about the entire island, its history and heritage and all sorts of broader humanitarian and cultural knowledge - he takes time to understand their guests interests and truly knows which places will offer the ultimate experience for what you are looking for. He had provided golden recommendations from sightseeing, guides and excursions, to places to eat and enjoy ourselves. Never before in my long history of visiting hotels I have got such well curated suggestions and practically fully made itinerary. The truth is we didn't get just a room - we got extreme hospitality and curation of our stay. Angela, Nikos' wife and co-owner, is making sure we get pampered in all possible ways - from rich breakfast adapted to our personal preferences to just having a nice afternoon chats. Giulia is also there for you whether it's to provide efficient service or have a nice chat if you feel so. The whole feeling is that you are at home - if not yours by title deed at least at your very hospitable and polite hosts' home. And since the hospitality is so amazing, it's worth mentioning the very cozy rooms - ours was adjacent to the city wall and we had our own small yard.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Kokkini Porta Rossa.
Having travelled for many years and having stayed in many different accommodations throughout the world, the breakfast here was by far the most enjoyable. Superb attention to details, ingredients and presentation as well as being absolutely delicious and nutritious in a wonderful garden setting.
The ground floor room with private courtyard met every expectation and was a pleasure to stay in.
Overall the attention to detail and the effort made by both hosts and the staff was outstanding.
If ever you were to travel to Rhodes you would find no better accommodation.
Amazing boutique hotel in the perfect location in the old time. We loved everything about our stay including breakfast, cocktails in the room, the room and facilities as well as our personalised daily plan from Nikos and of course the entire team at Kokkini Porta Rosa. We will be back!!
Our friends recommended that we stay at KPR and basically we had no choice having heard about their amazing experience. We've tracked quite a bit and have stayed at some great places but nothing compares to this. Everything was perfect - the overall ambiance, the gorgeous rooms, the delicious breakfasts and of course, the hosts' remarkable attention to detail and planning. Nikos and Angela and their staff are amazing and we cannot wait to come back. They treat you like family.
I can’t say enough about this place. The owners and staff couldn’t do enough for us. We felt like guests in their home. It felt so personal. This boutique hotel is very special! We were really sad to leave. I look forward to returning one day
Fantastic boutique hotel located in a quiet part of old Rhodes. Nikos and Angela have created a beautiful sanctuary, and go out of their way to make your experience exceptional. They and their staff are so lovely! I would not stay anywhere else!
The hosts were really helpful and went above and beyond to assist and show what Rhodes has to offer and we could draw on their extensive local knowledge.
Delicious breakfast and wonderful service, served in their lovely courtyard. When we had to leave earlier than breakfast service started, they prepared a takeaway pack for us which was also a great. selection of tasty items.
No suggestions for improvements
Our stay at Kokkini Porta Rossa could not have been more pleasant. We felt as if we were staying at a very nice private house and the owners, Nikos and Angela, anticipated our every need. They made suggestions for activities and meals every day, and their custom-made app guided and directed us as we explored the island and beyond. The delicious breakfasts were prepared in their own kitchen, featured local dishes and were served in their courtyard. Our room was extremely comfortable with personal touches, and we loved our private garden. We give our highest recommendation!
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Kokkini Porta Rossa. The rooms are nicely appointed including beautiful historical artifacts. Our hosts were delightful and helpful making arrangement for our tours, our meals and anything else we needed. The breakfasts were an epicurean delight. The website they have created that is curated to your room and provides easy links for navigation was very helpful. You will be very pleased with your stay should you choose this hotel.
Wonderful luxury suite; beautifully appointed throughout.
The unlimited bar - both in the room & in the salon - very welcome, & included in the booking charge.
Personal service at breakfast - very refined indeed.
The hosts untiring in their efforts to ensure every detail of the stay spot on: restaurant bookings & excursions.
Delightful courtyard.
Historic ambience
Superb central location
Very special place. Quiet, walking distance to everything in Rhodes Old Town - all the sites and restaurants, and easy access to the new part of town. The rooms and common areas are thoughtfully put together, beautiful, welcoming and comfortable. Nikos and Angela have created a space that feels like home. They provide for everything - including incredible breakfasts & amazing amenities. Nikos provides detailed information and amazing itineraries for guests for each day based on guest’s interests, including maps, a special app that tells you EVERYTHING you may need to know, and a tablet to go to ensure you have proper directions (trust me, you need it if you’re driving anywhere!). The staff was incredible. If you have the opportunity to stay at Kokkini Porta Rossa - do it!
What an amazing, unforgettable place to stay, everything we read in previous reviews is true. From the moment you arrive you get the sense that you are going to be very well looked after and the hospitality that Nikos, Angela and Giulio provide is second to none. They are clearly passionate in ensuring every single guest has the best individually tailored experience possible. They will plan and book anything you need. The breakfasts are on another level. We had an amazing week and would thoroughly recommend this hotel to any one . We would also recommend trying the collection of drinks provided in the room, a couple that we had never heard of soon became our go to aperitif before going out in the evening.
感觉非常好,房东非常热情周到细致,让人感觉到了家的温暖,很贴心,感谢主人让我们有了一次非常愉快的旅行!一切都很完美!

Amazing stay in a unique location, with all the 5* bells and whistles as advertised. The rave reviews really are true…. We were very fortunate to also receive a complimentary upgrade to a suite and an extra day of access due to a very late flight home.
Nikos and Angela are superb hosts full of genuine advice and suggestions that make all aspects of your holiday better. Julia is also amazing, super attentive and charming, making her own supplementary recommendations which were excellent.
Book in for as long as you can, relax and let professionals take care of you.
First basics out of the way, not the cheapest stay but worth every euro, value for money. All areas sparklingly clean. Bedrooms and bathrooms immaculate with a great selection of toiletries, towels etc. The hotel is very aware of protecting the environment, water conservation on a small island etc. and respected our request not to change bed linen, towels etc on a daily basis.! I cannot speak more highly of all aspects this wonderful hotel. Hotel positioned within easy access to all points of interest in Rhodes Town and further afield. On entry to the hotel you are immediately aware that you have selected a beautifully appointed hotel with welcoming experienced staff ready to provide a relaxed and comfortable stay. Not done your homework on what to see, where to go, no worries, Nikos provides detailed information on the island he and his wife Angela love. Looking at the prompts on writing a revue, beautiful well appointed rooms, (and we secured a guided tour, two nosey sisters!) general areas comfortable, tastefully decorated, gorgeous enclosed courtyard, enjoy the most delicious breakfast there. Don’t miss Angela’s homemade Lemon and Pink Pepper conserve. Service and amenities, how about a help yourself drinks selection accessible on your return after an evening relaxing in any of the many restaurants. Customer care, just everything, including on a slightly chilly day the loan of a beautiful cashmere and silk pashmina to ensure this guests comfort. Yes, I am an unashamed fan of Nikos, Angela and their team, and I hope to pay a return visit.

Kókkini Porta Rossa is an absolute gem! The hotel itself is a work of art with so many intricate details, a subtle, nuanced style, amazing collections that you can just wander around look at and you somehow feel like you are in a museum and your own home at the same time. Everything is so accessible it's just fun. Nikos and Angela are so welcoming and you immediately feel comfortable with them. From arranging my day trip to Symi, helping me find a guide for my full day tour of Rhodes, locating a local bicycle shop so I could have a great ride they were there for everything but never intrusive, just always helpful and friendly.
The rooms, ah the rooms! Just like the hotel itself works of art but also done in a way that you feel right at home. I often stay in larger chains with cookie cutter rooms, but occasionally stay at smaller boutique hotels, and honestly this was one of, if not the nicest accommodations I have ever had regardless of size. Sure big hotels can have more things like spas, etc, but the feel and experience at Kókkini Porta Rossa is unparalleled. Angela's homemade jams (yum!) breakfasts that are too delicious to describe with all sorts of little touches (bee pollen!?!) I was so impressed.
The location in the old town is perfect, close enough for a short walk to the heart of it but just a little bit away so you are not in the constant hustle and bustle of tourists.
Stay here for a truly magnificent experience that you will cherish for years to come.
Quite simply perfection! A beautifully restored medieval building filled with beautiful things! Nikos and Angela are highly professional hoteliers and anticipate your every need before you’ve thought of it yourself! Every aspect of the hotel is of the highest standard. Having stayed in a number of good boutique hotels, this stands out above the rest. Not wanting to sound gushing but this was as much an experience as a first class hotel.
Stayed at Kokkini Porta Rossa for three nights as the start to our trip to Greece, and it could not have been more lovely. The amount of thought that Nikos, Angela and their team have put into every detail really shines through, from the customizable home-cooked breakfasts to the carefully curated books, drinks and other amenities in the rooms to the unique and charming character of each space. We loved having breakfast in the garden each day including Angela's exceptional cooking. Nikos was also an admirable host who took the time to recommend restaurants and guides and to help us curate our journey. We were particularly impressed at the customized itineraries and recommendations, including a dedicated app, that he and the team put together for us - really enabling us to get the most out of Rhodes Old Town in a limited time. The location was also quite convenient to everything we wanted to see.
Genuinely this may have been the best and most thoughtful hotel I have ever stayed at, both in terms of how it was designed and also in terms of the day-to-day friendly hospitality. Thank you!
