I recently stayed at the Kimpton Palladian Hotel by IHG in Seattle and had a great experience. The hotel has a stylish boutique vibe with unique décor, comfortable rooms, and an excellent location just a short walk from Pike Place Market and the waterfront. The staff was friendly and welcoming, and the atmosphere felt both upscale and relaxed. I also enjoyed the cozy ambiance at Pennyroyal. If you’re looking for a trendy downtown Seattle hotel with character and convenience, the Kimpton Palladian is definitely worth considering.
Bathtub is what I went for and was exactly what I needed after a cross country train trip.
Exceptional service and friendly staff in Hotel and restaurant.
Hotel very well situated for all amenities. The room was a good size and the bed was very comfy.
A little overpriced.
Good stuff: + the location is great—just a half mile from Pike Place Market, and less than a mile in the other direction from the Space Needle. Plenty of restaurants, cafes, and shops to explore within a very short walking distance.
+ the motif is kind of dark and brooding but also really fun (the throw pillow in my room had a picture of Ricky Gervais dressed as a soldier, and a second glance at the large oil painting in the hallway confirms that it’s Kurt Cobain).
+room was quite clean, bed was very comfortable
+the attached bar, PennyRoyal, is excellent —great drinks, friendly service, reasonably quiet. Happy hour deals are very solid
+ the attached restaurant, Shaker + Spear, has a very solid breakfast and good service. Service can be slow since there was only one person cooking for the entire restaurant during both breakfast services.
The bad:
+ the location can be quite loud— a lot of ambient noise, sirens, people yelling on the street. The hotel includes a pair of ear plugs in your room. I also used a white noise maker, which helped.
+ the elevator went out of service my first evening there. Huge bummer to walk up to the 9th floor after a few cocktails. However, one of the two elevators was operational by the time I needed to use it the next morning. I was told that I would receive a drink voucher, but that never happened and I never saw the employee (manager?) who offered it again.
+ I booked with a rewards credit card, with a “guaranteed” 4pm late check out. By contrast, I also have an early check in benefit that is explicitly “subject to availability.” I asked about this multiple times during my stay, and when I asked for the 3rd time the morning of my departure, I was told that “late checkout requests are always subject to availability” which is very much not a “guarantee” and explicitly not how the benefit is outlined. The hotel stated that it was “able” to accommodate a 2pm checkout, which is what I accepted but it was also a pretty big inconvenience since it was a work trip and I scheduled my evening flight with the “guarantee” in mind.
Overall, it’s a good hotel. I wouldn’t book if you’re explicitly looking for a quiet night’s sleep or if your travel plans require you to leave in the evening.
The staff is kind and friendly! All my interactions were pleasant. Great location and love the decor!
Great customer service! Latanya at the front desk was above and beyond the best I’ve ever experienced. She helped us with a few things, smiling the whole time.
The location is absolutely perfect if you're looking for the quintessential Seattle downtown experience. Very short walk to Pike Street Market, the waterfront and "boardwalk". A LARGE variety of restaurants within blocks. The hotel is a mixture of funky and elegant. The hallways & lobby are dark and moody while the room is bright and well appointed. Hospitality was exceptional!
Great location, walkable to pike place market and the waterfront. The room was spacious and modern. I also like the celebrity pillows!
The staff made the experience. Jesse started us with the absolute perfect check-in. Alicia overnight was helpful. Amal was helpful over the phone. Finally, Daya got us checked out with friendly speed and convenience
Location is terrific near Pike Place Market. Slightly longer walk to Seattle Art Museum. Very attentive staff.
Brittany made our stay a 12/10. She was helpful, attentive, and her bright and approachable personality went above and beyond our expectations. This was our last hotel and BEST stay after traveling on the road for seven days. Even though it was the end of her shift on Friday night, she made sure we were checked in and settled in before she left for the day. We just moved to the area and will be only using the Kimpton Palladian and recommending this to visiting friends and family.
In addition, Huntly at Penny Royal was wonderful and attentive and made us feel welcome back anytime.
Location was great.
Rooms were small but enough room for what you need.
Mattress pad was too small and kept coming up.
Excellent staff and very clean and comfortable room. Great location across the street from the Moore Theatre for attending a concert. Delicious breakfast in the morning at the hotel restaurant, also with excellent staff.
Great place to stay, especially if you’re going to a show at the theater next door. Excellent food! Super friendly staff!
Cute rooms with fun decor are not enough to make up for shocking rude service. The front desk hung up on me, lied to my colleagues and called us liars.
They alerted us to a fire drill at 8am the following morning late the night before suggesting I find other arrangements for my service animal with only hours notice.
The first few days were fine with the manager on site then it went terribly down hill over the weekend with staff changes. Our 2 week stay was ruined. Took 4 days to get our room serviced.
Location
Special Shoutout to Jesse who managed our check in. Great communication from start to end.
Shauvik, Shaker + spear restaurant supervisor at the hotel left no stones in hospitality.
Jason, our server who we saw most often in the morning for breakfast.
All the staff was courteous and if there was any issue addressed it appropriately to make things right.
Room was nice, kings city view with puget sound. Was on 9th floor. Felt little smaller but just like in any big city it is a little bit challenge to get bigger room size. But not a big deal, sure there may be more spacious but a little more expensive options.
Could almost walk to all places, Pikes place, Pier 58. Space needle, museum of illusion, Westlake center station near by for link rail connectivity.
Walked mostly all places.
