Lovely stay by the water!
Pros:

John at the desk was wonderful as was the location. Easy to walk Cannery row, very quick drive to downtown, the wharf and Carmel. We enjoyed the view and second floor outside seating. Ate at 3 walkable delicious restaurants (Wave Street Cafe for breakfast, Sardine Factory and Paprika Cafe for dinner.)

Perfect location and friendly staff
Pros:

• Amazing location, very close to everything and highly walkable to town.
• Reasonably priced parking.
• Comfortable bed, great-smelling soap and shampoo, and super friendly front desk staff.

Cons:

• Thin walls and ceilings, so noise travels easily.
• The rooms and elevator look much older than in the photos
• The outdoor common seating area had some bird feathers and droppings. It wasn't too bad since there are a lot of birds around the area, but just something to note.

Disappointed
Pros:

Staff was friendly. Good location!

Cons:

The pictures were nowhere near the reality, it did not meet the standards for a 4-star hotel, it barely did for a 3-star, and priced as a 4-star

Top located Inn with sea-views rooms, nice patio and friendly Hosts.
Pros:

Top Located with Sea View! Big Room, clean bathroom. Great patio to hang out at the fireplace with friends having a glass of wine! Very friendly hosts.

Cons:

Carpeted Floor in the room. I have never been a big fan of this. Was very clean, but not my personal preference.

Aquarium visitors
Pros:

Location is ideal for checking out cannery row & the aquarium.
Atmosphere is decent if you like older motels, but at least they offer a secure property where the public can’t get to the rooms. Outdoor fire pits are nice, no vending machine so bring your own unless you like free granola bars.
Rooms: they’re dated, but decent & clean. It’s been awhile since this place was updated. I would probably look around more next time. Issue: we heard the people above us come in from a late night out, & then we heard
them rise early & stomp all over the place.
The value was decent & Carol was a delight at the front desk.
For an old place the rooms were clean & we liked the wall units for the AC.
I covered the noise level already, but keep in mind it’s an old place so you hear the road noise even though they have dual pane windows.
Service was great & the staff helpful, nobody is on the property after 11pm until 6am.
Amenities? None outside the room other than the ice maker & each room has a basic (1 cup at a time) coffee maker. Nice little fridge under the cabinet. TV should come with some instructions as it has 3 basic options, but the controller didn’t want to cooperate.
Bed was comfy, and bathroom was decent & very clean.

Pros:

Excellent location. Walking distance to restaurants, Monterey Bay Aquarium, and Cannery row.
The staff was very nice and welcoming, beds were comfortable and appreciated the refrigerator!

Cons:

Our room was on the fourth floor and the seagulls had a party on the roof, squaking all night. We realize the hotel has no responsibility but they were very active all night.
Also the shower handles are stripped, forgot to tell the staff.
