Happy repeat visitor
Pros:

I have stayed here several times in the recent past, and keep going back because it has a friendly atmosphere, the staff are great and it gets all the important essential elements right. I have stayed in different rooms and all have been comfortable and quiet. Although it is situated a little way out of the city centre, it is in a lovely position with a mature gardens and views out across the Tay, close to the Botanic Gardens, and with good bus links into town.

Cons:

Not really a criticism as the staff are really good, but the dining room is very popular so service can be a little slow in the evenings.

Comfortable stay, good location for getting into city centre without the car
Pros:

Room had everything we needed. Bus stop to city centre at bottom of the drive.

Would choose a standard, rather than a small room next time

Brief stay
Pros:

Our stay here was brief. The weather was wild, so it was nice to escape it. The room was small but comfortable, especially the bed. We ate at the restaurant in the hotel and the meals were traditional pub fare. Nothing fancy but a good nights stay

Not impressed
Pros:

The wood throughout the hotel was lovely and I loved the big display of fake flowers on massive vases.

Cons:

Where to start. First of all I specifically asked for one double bed, I got two singles pushed together which made it an incredibly uncomfortable nights sleep. The matters was hard and because it was two singles we fell down the middle. not impressed.the bedding was ripped in a few places to so the duvet was poking out from it's cover. Not a nice look.

The staff in the bar/restaurant were pleasant enough but in need to training. The timing of orders was long considering it was quite quiet while we used that facility. There seemed to be plenty staff but the ones serving seemed unsure of themselves. Given the rating of the invercarse hotel I found this disappointing.the prices to seemed way over priced for what was actually offered.8 pound for burnt toast and hummus was not ideal. I also asked for blackcurrant juice in a cider, the bar man said yes that was fine then poured the pint then said oh no sorry we dot have that. I was stuck with a drink I felt I couldn't refuse but did not want. The atmosphere in the bar area was nice and relaxed but very bright. Would of been nice to of had some better lighting for the area as the evening went on.

The room was meant to be a double deluxe, it was small for what I was expecting. It was clean but I was highly disappointed to find it had a shower only. It was also not restocked. We had no cups, coffee, milk, sugar but did get some when we asked at reception. It was again disappointing for what I paid and the rating of the hotel.

Holly on reception was an amazing staff member and was extremely helpful at all times.

The location of the rooms meant we could see other guests laying in their beds which was not pleasant for anyone. The room was on the first floor and it was like a maze to get to the room to reception. I found this disorganised and disorientating.

The stay was ok but far from what I expected from best western and invercarse as a highly rated hotel. This is a fair and accurate review.
