Hotel Checkin El Cortecito

I had an extremely disappointing experience with Hotel El Cortecito. I contacted their guest service team the day before my scheduled check-in to modify my reservation from July 4th to July 3rd. Their own representative advised me to cancel the original booking and make a new reservation instead of processing a modification. I followed those instructions in good faith.
Despite doing exactly what their representative told me to do, the hotel marked my cancelled reservation as a no-show and is now charging me a fee for it. When I reached out to resolve the matter, they claimed they never received a cancellation notification — which is a direct result of their own staff's mishandling of my request.
To make things worse, they have failed to respond to my follow-up communications in a timely manner, leaving me with no resolution and an unjust charge on my account.
I would not recommend this property. Poor communication, unprofessional handling of guest requests, and zero accountability for their own mistakes.Terrible customer service and unjust no-show charge

Unfortunately i had a very bad situation occur. On arrival the air conditioner was leaking water. Even though i informed the reception they never fixed it. But this was minor issue compared to what happened and how i was treated.
I arrived back to my room with my friend around 3am. We left the hotel key in her sisters house who was asleep by then. My friends house keys, her passport was in my locked room. No problem right? The hotel has spare key and the sister will bring the hotel key tomorrow. Well, their master key didnt work. We waited 2 hours for the receptionist to resolve it. They wouldnt give us another room even to wait in and my friend is traveling that morning and needed her documents.. With the master key the door would open to a point and eventually i opened with force. They charged 500$ (which i found out from a local was extortionate) which i was fine to pay and did pay next morning. Although for me they should have waived 50% as their master key didnt work. My friend brought hotel key next morning and finally they said they would move me to a new room and told me to leave my bags with them. I went to santo domingo for a meeting and arrived back midnight. The night receptionist told me to pay the extra night in morning as he needed to confirm rate. My suitcase they never moved to new room and wouldnt give me. No toiletries, no clothes having travelled all day from punta cana to santo domingo and back
The next morning im woken at 7am to being accused of not paying. I explained the night receptionist said and said i will pay on check out at 12
Then they claimed i never paid for door..i showed them my card transactions..as a european it showed in euros and they accused me of paying less not knowing the euro is stronger than dollar.

There was a guess with a dog and this pet was howling every night we could sleep well also the girl who prepare the breakfast she didn't have the good tools to make a wonderful breakfast, her kitchen is very tiny and very uncomfortable.

Even though she was very nice and gentle.
