We had a wonderful stay as a family and would highly recommend it. The view alone is worth it.
Pros:

It’s so beautiful and quaint that we really didn’t want to leave.
The food is delicious at all its restaurants and tea in the afternoon is a real treat.
The staff are lovely and helpful.

Cons:

Not much. The only thing I can say is that our room smelt of damp but they dealt with that quickly. Also the aircon was very poor in one of our rooms.

Disappointed by health hazards and overpricing during a medical emergency
Pros:

I am specifically leaving a 2-star review to bring these issues to management's attention. We are currently staying at the hotel, and despite a lot of beautiful aspects of the resort and service (such a surprised room upgrade), we have already experienced several deeply disappointing moments.

Firstly, I had a medical emergency and needed assistance from the reception with a hospital appointment. I was in significant pain after twisting my ankle (by the way, on unmarked hotel stairs) and requested a taxi. When I directly asked about the price, the receptionist told me that the payment would be settled later and that the driver would generously wait for me at the hospital. It sounded like great care, until the driver demanded 2,000 KES for the trip from the hotel to Diani Beach Hospital, plus an additional 1,000 KES for a mere 6-minute drive to a restaurant after collecting my family from hotel for lunch. I find it hard to believe that the hotel staff chose to exploit a medical emergency to overcharge their clients by 2 to 3 times the local rate.

The second major disappointment—about which I have already emailed management—is that this luxury hotel allowed external "cat volunteers" to use guest facilities alongside families with children from 10 AM to 5 PM. This included them using guest beach towels, washrooms, and the swimming pool right after handling hotel cats with clear, severe skin conditions. I understand these "volunteers" overused the staff's hospitality, but permitting such a sanitary breach when guests pay enormous amounts of money to stay here shows that something is definitely wrong. The hotel urgently needs to organize proper professional veterinary care for the cats on their territory instead of relying on unprofessional volunteering services. There are families, children, and babies here!

First time in Africa!!
Pros:

We were here as a family of 5 and booked 4 nights into room with 1 queen sized bed and 3 single beds in the other.

We were picked up promptly from airport and driven to the hotel which was included in our package.

Friendly staff who were always welcoming and helpful at all times!!

Breakfast included in our package , this was a decent spread of food that was sumptuous and filling!! Facing the beach that was very pleasant in the mornings!!

We generally were too full so skipped our lunches and went to the dinners in same area!! Again, good food with limited vegetarian options. There is a pool bar with good food and drinks!! At 4 pm every day complimentary tea and snacks were served by the pool.

We spent most of our times outdoors- gym/pool/body boarding and surfing in the beach, playing cards/games by the pool.
There is an activity centre where we booked our snorkelling trip to a sandbank that was 15-20 min from the resort.

The beach is clean and 2 miles long so those who wish to walk or jog will enjoy themselves!!

Drawbacks :

1) no game rooms- board games/Tabletennis and similar stuff that we had in other resorts.

2) Likewise there is a small library that didn’t have any English books.

3) Please be mindful of people by the beach ( not private) who will try to sell you stuff at an exorbitant price!!!

4) Towncentre is a 10 min drive by Tuk-Tuk ( charged around 50 KS per person) but again beware as some people may fleece you.

5) There are few restaurants, merchandise shops, and a dept store that sells plenty of stuff ( but we didn’t use it)

On the whole, friendly relaxing stay for the entire family and worth the money!!

Pros:

Our experience as black dual citizens of Kenya/America was terrible from the very get go. When we got to the entrance we were met with oh you are going to the restaurant? And we said no we are checking in. Next thing we experienced was at check in we wanted attached room because it was mom and 2 kids and a sister that was going to watch kids when I wake up to Run….they gave us keys to attached rooms but they were not attached. The check in staff didn’t even know what rooms were attached. Room 12 smelled like Mold. Ok we moved on. We were walking to the restaurant/beach and along the walk we asked the garden staff if this was the way to the beach and they asked for our room number? I let it go and we went to the restaurant and coming back from the beach my daughter is asking the security guy where is the swimming pool and and I asked the security guy can we come in and he said no and I said why not and he said because it’s only for residents and I said we are staying here and he let us in and then we were followed by security to the pool with my daughter to verify our stay again?? For black people we don’t deserve to stay here?

Breakfast at Nomad Beach Bar & Restaurant ☕🍳
Pros:

… 🥥🌴 Breakfast at Nomad Beach Bar & Restaurant ☕🍳 …

Some mornings aren't meant to be rushed.

They're meant for slow coffee, good conversations, ocean breezes and a breakfast worth waking up for. 🌊✨

Nestled on the white sands of Diani Beach, @Nomadbeachbar has long mastered the art of slow coastal living. Their menu celebrates the best of the coast—fresh local ingredients, global inspiration, and dishes that let the produce do the talking. 🥗🍍

This morning, I went for their vegan breakfast platter... and legendary isn't an exaggeration. 🌱👌🏾 Every bite was fresh, colourful and beautifully put together.

Across the table, my colleague @Latoyaflows was happily diving into her oozy eggs 🍳 while we caffeinated, scribbled through our notes, and prepared for another day hosting a corporate retreat at the Nomad Beach Resort Villas.

Even Oliver Mzungu; the Operations Manager, joined us for breakfast—a reminder that great hospitality often starts with people who genuinely love the spaces they create. 🤍

And if you're staying at the resort...

**Please don't sleep through breakfast.** 😅🥐

Their all-inclusive breakfast buffet is one of Diani's quiet luxuries.

What I also love is Nomad's commitment to sustainability. 🌿 Their organic farm supplies seasonal produce directly to the kitchen, supporting local farmers while reducing food miles. Guests can even purchase their fresh, pesticide-free harvests to take home. 🍅🥬

It's thoughtful hospitality—from farm to fork. 🌍💚

🌍 Sustainability Highlights:

♻️ Food scraps and garden cuttings are composted.
🍾 Upcycled glass features throughout the restaurant.
🐟 Proud supporters of a Sustainable Seafood Policy.
🌱 Organic, pesticide-free produce grown on the Nomad Farm.

One breakfast closer to understanding why Nomad remains one of Diani's classics. 🌴💙

Honeymoon
Pros:

My husband and I stayed here for 3 nights during our 12 day honeymoon in Kenya. We went in June, which is the "cold season", but the temperatures were in the 80's and the water was still very warm. The resort was very quiet, but it does allow children so that volume can change, especially by the pool area. THE FOOD WAS DELICIOUS!! The décor of the rooms were a bit underwhelming, if your into a nice aesthetic of the room it might be a bit disappointing, butttt with a beach as beautiful as Diani Beach, you should not be in your room anyway! Happy Travels!

A perfect choice for a beautiful, relaxing, and memorable stay in Diani Beach
Pros:

A wonderful stay in one of the best places in Diani Beach

We absolutely loved our stay at Nomad Hotel Diani Beach. The hotel is beautiful, with a stunning view, lovely surroundings, and a very relaxing atmosphere. The service was excellent — the staff were attentive, friendly, and always ready to help.

The restaurant also deserves a special mention: the food was delicious, fresh, and beautifully prepared. Breakfast and dinner were both a real pleasure.

This is definitely a place we would love to come back to.
