Hotel Mega Mare

The only positive thing about this hotel is the view. Everything else was a disaster.

No Functioning AC: Our room was stiflingly hot the entire time. We complained on multiple occasions but the air coming out was never cold. We were repeatedly dismissed with excuses to "give it time" and that the system can't keep up because it's so hot out. I told them we live in a place that's hot year round and our AC works perfectly fine. Their system was either not working or set to a high temperature to save money. The cleaning staff lowered our non-functioning AC setting every day despite the fact that the AC did not work.

Rude Staff and Hostile Owner: The service was shockingly unprofessional. While in the pool, an employee closed our umbrella under which we kept our personal belongings in the shade without asking and then yelled at me when I went to reopen it stating I needed permission to open it. She stated it was too windy when there was zero wind and left all the other umbrellas at the pool open. The owner came out minutes later and instead of apologizing, he confronted me about having a small, 6 oz (200 ml) container of peach iced tea by the pool. He said that I needed to buy drinks from the bar and I couldn't have my own. He then defended his employee's actions stating I need to ask permission to open the umbrella even though his employee closed it without asking us.

The staff and owner are combative and treat guests like a nuisance. Do not stay here. The view is not worth the stress. The other reviews I've read have stating the same things.

Como todo el mundo, el tema de la piscina. Tiene unas instalaciones en la zona de la piscina, que sería increíble si pusieran zona bar o chill out para poder ver el atardecer mientras te bañas. Las vistas son de 10 pero cierran la piscina a las 19h, cuando aún el sol esta muy alto. Pero sus motivos tendrán, es sólo un apunte.

The staff was not cooperative, every time we would ask them something they behaved like they were doing us a favor. We asked some extra towels the manager/ owner almost scolded us and asked why we need some more towels! The hotel has a swimming pool, but they don't provide towels! The quality of the towels was the CHEAPEST AND WORST quality I have ever seen in my life. They didn't have to be high quality, but at least decent and absorbing!

Italy is blessed with so many fresh food products - well, there was none there! Cheap, limited selection...The owner would turn off the A/C so he can save on electricity whenever he decided, without any notice or even asking the guests!

It's such a shame, cos the hotel could be a little jewel - without having to spend a lot of money....simply Hospitality/ Service 101 principles!

La habitación es un poco antigua.
El desayuno muy básico echamos en falta algo de salado (todo eran dulces).
La persona que nos recepcionó en la mañana fue muy mal educada solo porque llegamos antes de la hora del check in.

WiFi didn’t work in our room, very noisy and some staff were a bit rude. Also the swimming pool not open in the morning.

Panorama, posizione e piscina

The staff were rude, particularly the morning shift worker - wasn’t very approachable and was rude with responses. The location is quite far out from the city of Sorrento (20 minutes by car) the hotel offer no services for getting into the centre, taxis don’t run there and there is no bus there either so unless you have a mopped, driver or your own car your only way of transportation is to walk for over an hour.
