Hotel Mega Mare

Il est vrai que l'emplacement n'est pas idéal, considérant que les taxis/uber sont hors de prix. On est jeune, donc cela ne nous as pas déranger de marcher jusqu'à Sorrento (1h30), mais on comprend que cela n'est pas accessible pour tous
Les employés de l'établissement était gentil, mais le propriétaire n'est pas très agréable, à la limite bête et méchant.
Petit hick, il y a un mini-bar dans la chambre avec une liste de prix pour les boissons. Nous n'avons rien consommer pour éviter d'avoir à payer. Finalement, on s'est fait supprendre par des frais de 60 euro à la fin de notre séjour, semblerait-il que c'était un prix fixe? Il est pourtant indiqué sur une feuille dans la chambre qu'un employé vérifie le frigo lors du ckeck-out pour savoir quoi charger ensuite. C'était le proprio à l'accueil à ce moment, j'ai essayé d'obtenir des explications, mais la communication était difficile. Un peu plus il me traitait de stupide.

Incredibly bad mattress, completely worn out. I could feel the springs and even some plastic pieces. Very bad sound isolation, can hear everything from the rooms above, as well as on the right and left. There were footsteps from room above almost all the time. Constant smell of cigarettes.

The manager was extremely rude, grumpy, unapproachable, and not welcoming at all. Whenever we asked for help or travel advice, he dismissed us and even said “not my problem.” He also shouted “NO” at my 4 year old daughter when she touched a plant, which frightened her and was completely unacceptable.

We also asked for heating, but it was ignored and the air conditioning was left on, making the room uncomfortable.

The hotel is very old and needs updating. Our room had flies everywhere, including drain flies and biting flies.

Breakfast was poor with limited options: old boiled eggs, cheese, pork, cereal, fruit, and cold croissants—nothing hot.

Transport is also an issue; the only option is hiring a car.

The stay here completely ruined this part of our trip. You know it's bad when you request a refund within the first hour. During our entire stay the pool was closed and all sun loungers had been removed. We were never informed of this before arrival. We even asked staff whether we could at least use sun loungers in the pool area, but this was refused.

The hotel was also advertised as having free Wi-Fi, however there was effectively no working Wi-Fi in the bedrooms during our stay.

The overall atmosphere was extremely uncomfortable and hostile. Staff, including reception and breakfast staff, were consistently rude and unhelpful. There were numerous strange and restrictive rules, including:
- no food allowed in rooms,
- no takeaway deliveries, despite there being no food options nearby
- having to hand in your room key every time you left the hotel, and needing to request it back every time you returned.
At one point I was even told off for slouching on a sofa in reception.

Breakfast was also extremely disappointing, with very limited options. We were served stale meat and mouldy oranges (see photos) every day. The towels felt more like thin recycled bedsheets than proper towels, and overall the hotel felt neglected and unwelcoming. Half of our wardrobe was locked. The plug socket in the room didn't work so we had to use the one in the bathroom.

Because the advertised facilities were unavailable, we were forced to walk to distant beaches instead, involved steep uphill climbs and dangerous roads without pavements for at least 30 mins. My wife is pregnant and this caused genuine difficulty for her, including breathing issues on the return walk. Local taxis were charging €40–€50 each way, making the situation even worse. The free beaches are small and ugly (not what I was expecting).

This did not feel like a relaxing holiday hotel. It felt stressful, restrictive and uncomfortable from start to finish.
