Good in a pinch.
Pros:

Staff was friendly.

Cons:

Old Hotel. The location in old town across from the shut down mill was an eye sore. Hotel for some reason was not able to take payment with my Bankcard even though it worked everywhere else. There is no restaurant inside, no facilities. Was the cheapest in town but very expensive for what you get.

Great history and good value for a night in Powell River
Pros:

The hotel has a very interesting history and the manager generously spent time with us as we looked at the many framed photos on the lobby walls, explaining the background of each. We really enjoyed and appreciated that time with him.
The lobby would have been quite grand with its beautiful two-sided staircase and extensive use of Douglas Fir trim in its early years, set in an otherwise fully industrial area. Being history lovers, we felt like we were spending a night in a museum.
The room was decently clean and the beds were comfortable enough but made up with very nice bedding and pillows, so good value for money when you just need a place to sleep.

Cons:

The bathroom was clean but very unappealing with its mismatched, old fixtures, worn "tile" tub surround, lack of counter space and lack of fan. To dehumidify the bathroom you have to open the window which very sadly reveals a wooden window frame that is badly in need of upkeep.

Starke Geruchsbelästigung in kleinem Zimmer, keine Aussicht, alte muffige Möbel, viel zu teuer
Pros:

Der Bereich in der Lounge war nett eingerichtet und es gab viele historische Bilder a den Wänden.

Cons:

Im Zimmer stand ein schwer erträglicher unangenehmer Geruch, der weder durch Lüften noch dem Aufstellen von Kaffeepulver zu eliminieren war. Durch Duftspender ließ es sich ein wenig übertünchen. Das Zimmer war durch 2 Betten voll mit wenig Platz zum Öffnen der Koffer. Das Bad war leider nicht fertiggestrichen worden und das Fenster darin etwas 100 Jahre alt und nicht funktionabel. Blick aus dem Fenster auf die mittelalte Industrieanlage. Keine Frühstücksoption im Haus. Hoher Preis für schlechten Service
