As frequent international travellers, we rarely leave negative reviews because we understand that no hotel is perfect. Unfortunately, our stay at Hotel Elisabeth fell well below our expectations.

To begin with the positives, the breakfast each morning was excellent, and the hotel’s décor and artwork throughout the main building were beautiful. Sadly, these were the highlights of our stay.

From the moment we arrived, we were met with an unfriendly and dismissive attitude at reception. It was not the warm welcome you would expect after a long day of travelling.

We were also surprised to discover that our accommodation was located in the separate studio building rather than the main hotel. This was not something that was made clear when booking, and had we known, we would have made a different choice.

Arriving in Belgium with large suitcases after an international flight, there was no lift or porter service available to assist with our luggage. Instead, we had to carry heavy bags up an extremely narrow staircase ourselves, which was both difficult and inconvenient. After returning from Tomorrowland each day, climbing those same stairs again was equally frustrating.

Unfortunately, the room itself was also disappointing. The kitchen was dirty on arrival, the floors had clearly not been cleaned properly, and the overall standard of cleanliness was below what we expected from a hotel. There was nowhere convenient to hang towels after showering or store toiletries, the wardrobe space was very limited, and there were not enough hangers provided.

Both beds had broken bases, making them uncomfortable to sleep on throughout our stay.

One of our biggest frustrations was the lack of air conditioning. While we later noticed this was mentioned in the room information, we genuinely did not expect a hotel of this standard to offer accommodation without air conditioning during the summer months.

To make matters worse, the blinds were broken and would not close properly.

A recepciós első éjszaka után hívott, hogy kipakolta a szemelyes összes dolgainkat és lehozták a recepcióra.
Szobát kellett cserelni, de nem mondták pontosan hánykor.
Elmentünk sétálni és 12-kor mindent kipakoltak a szobából.
Ez felháborító!

Cons:

Gostei de tudo, exceto que quando chegamos de madrugada, com fome, não tinha o serviço de pizza 24 horas, sete dias por semana, conforme anunciam no quarto e na receção, por o funcionário afirmar que os fornos iam ser precisos para os pequenos almoços. Nós chegamos ao hotel ás 03:20 am vindos do Tomorrowland.
