The breakfast on the first day was good, but the second morning was extremely disorganised and very disappointing. There appeared to be only one staff member working—a lovely lady who was trying her best to make coffees, serve guests and manage everything by herself.
The food was not organised properly, there were no vegetarian options available, and the coffee took a very long time to arrive. I also asked for some bread, which took a long time to be brought over.
Overall, the breakfast service was very poor. I had paid for an all-inclusive stay and did not expect this standard of service from a hotel. I have never experienced such a badly organised breakfast service before.
We also had a very unpleasant experience when returning to the hotel after visiting Fort William. We arrived back at approximately 11:30 pm and found the main doors locked. I rang the reception bell from outside, but the reception doors were also locked. I was with a child who was desperate to use the toilet, and it was raining. We were left waiting outside for around ten minutes.
When a male member of staff eventually came to the door, his manner initially felt quite aggressive and unwelcoming. He later became calmer, but he told me that there was a telephone number displayed outside and that I should have read it. However, none of this information had been explained to us when we checked in. We were not told what time the doors would be locked, who to contact if we returned late, or that we should leave our key at reception.
The lack of information and the way the situation was handled made the experience unnecessarily stressful. The staff member could have explained the procedure politely and with more understanding, particularly as I was standing outside in the rain with a child who urgently needed the toilet.
Overall, the customer service and communication were not of the standard I would expect from a hotel. I have stayed in many hotels and have not experienced this level of disorganisation and poor communication before.
Very spacious room and bathroom, friendly staff, great food available for dinner and cooked breakfast of eggs benedict and royale included in the breakfast for free. Great shower power and heat. Nice view of garden
Some cobwebs in the fan light on ceiling and dust around telephone on bedside table, so not thoroughly cleaned. Would also be helpful to have breakfast a bit more flexible on the weekend, starting earlier than 8am and until lunchtime

Steak Frites in the restaurant was slightly over-cooked and had not been properly rested. One server in the restaurant kept saying “no worries” which got quickly annoying.
Bed was comfortable and breakfast was very good.
Room was very hot and the windows didn't open far enough to get air flow.
Stairs to room so difficult if you have mobility issues.
