Overall impression was very good, completely let down by rooms. Travel world and never had a smaller room. For location

Wedding 💒
Pros:

Had an absolutely fabulous day from start to finish at our wedding, Rebecca, Gabbie,Anya and the rest of the team were fantastic and couldn't ask for more, staff were polite pleasant and extremely efficient. Rooms were clean spacious with everything you needed, honeymoon suite was amazing, food was fresh and very tasty

Very comfortable close to village amenities including rail transport.
Pros:

Location in Village, close to rail transport. Secure room.very good breakfast. Attentive staff. Gentleman in bar of an evening was very pleasant and helpful.

Cons:

Room could be brighter. Tea tray in room 9 is awkward to use.

Probably OK for a wedding guest for 1 night but not suited to longer stays in a standard room.
Pros:

A good selection of cooked breakfasts.

No cheese or cold meats with the continental breakfast despite being stated there would be.

Cons:

We didn’t realise the hotel is primarily a wedding venue. Large groups in the bar were noisy.

Our standard room was very small. You had to squeeze down one side of the bed as there wasn’t enough space between the bed and a radiator.

The room lighting was very dim and the room generally dark.

There is no air conditioning so were reliant on opening the window. Not ideal with noisy wedding guests outside.

Great traditional style hotel
Pros:

The room was large with a decent sized bathroom. The bar and restaurant area were nice, and there was a lovely outdoor terrace. The location was great as it was only a short walk from the train station and local shops. The staff were friendly.

Cons:

We stayed for two nights and on the second morning we had to wait quite a long time (about 45 mins) for our cooked breakfast. The continental selection had run out. There didn't seem to be many staff members about. They did apologise at the time for the delay. The food was good once it arrived, it was just a shame about the long wait. Luckily we weren't rushing to go or we would have had to leave without eating!

Ok, but staff made it less enjoyable
Pros:

The hotel itself.

Cons:

Attitude of some of the staff. Young girl tending breakfast seemed to not have a care in the world, very forgetful. Staff on reception always in back room, had to shout from front desk to get their attention. Cleaning staff stood talking in middle of corridor blocking my path, had to ask 3 times if I could pass her before she sighed and moved.

Lovely overnight sway with work
Pros:

The hotel is lovely. Excellent food and rooms to a good standard

The girls are reception are a credit to your hotel. So friendly. Chatty and helpful. I think the girl on reception was Hannah. Excellent customer service
