We stayed here post-cruise for what was supposed to be 2 nights. We ended up staying 3 nights due to a flight delay. The people working at Sophie's are some of the nicest, helpful people! They definitely make the place. The hotel is older but well-kept. The rooms are apartment style and come with full kitchens. Grocery stores are nearby. The rooms were very clean. Great on-site restaurant. Overall a great place and would definitely stay again! I should also say that parts of the hotel have been renovated, so lots of choices.
Excellent place to stay in Fairbanks. Nice people with family feel. Clean rooms and full amenities. Good location and walking distance to many restaurants.
I can't figure out the remote for the tv.
The room is great, the people at the front desk I were great and everything else seems to be very good.
An older facility yet super comfortable and very clean. A great place to rest up after a full dayof travel and to ready for our group to assemble. Very friendly staff.
The location is conveniently close to the airport and points of interest. The staff are friendly and welcoming. The room size makes it more like home than a hotel stay., and I am surprised how quiet it is here. The restaurant has the best biscuits and gravy I have ever had.
Would totally stay here again.
Hôtel très agréable restaurant sympathique parking
The hotel was a great place to stay. Everyone was very friendly and the rooms were outstanding! It felt so much like "home". We have stayed there before and loved it.
Easy to find location near the airport and very nice staff.
A little dated.
The location and the room layout and the cleanliness was good.
No working internet or TV. Moved us to another room where we experienced a partially working TV but still no internet. The food at the restaurant was good but the service was terrible. It took 2 hours and 15 minutes to get breakfast!!!!! Staff said they didn’t think it would be busy so the main cook took the day off!!
Lovely suite a great place to crash and rest after Arctic adventure. Plenty of space and a kitchenette to boot. Airport shuttle and nice restaurant on site were a welcome bonus. Zach’s restaurant wait staff were great.
No issues to report
Great suite, very good dinner at the restaurant. Breakfast buffet was not good, which would be forgivable if free but it is not free. TVs in the suite were of high quality but the picture quality was not. Only seemed to show streaming content. I could not figure out how to tune into local CBS, ABC or NBC stations to watch local news.
We stayed here 2 nights as a family in 3 rooms as part of a land excursion following a Norwegian Cruise Lines tour. The facility was apparently originally designed as apartments for transient workers in the 1970’s-1980’s and later converted to a hotel. So we had a separate living room and full kitchen, which we didn’t need given our short stay. The first thing we noticed when opening the door was the stale, musty odor. All 3 of the rooms had an unpleasant door, and one smelled strongly of cigarette smoke. My daughter asked to be moved to another room, but none were available. Then she was offered various treatments to address the smell, including Febreze and other air fresheners, which is an indication that the staff is aware of the odor issues. The furniture was ancient and chipped, and the carpets were stained. On our last day there, we had a late flight, so we slept in a bit and intended to eat breakfast at the hotel’s restaurant, but they only serve until 9:00 a.m. What kind of a restaurant closes at 9:00 a.m.!!! The only good things I can say about this hotel is that the rooms were quiet, the bed was comfortable enough, and the shower had great water pressure.
This place is disgusting. Hasn’t been updated in 40 years, smells like cigarettes and is overall horrific. Run! DO NOT STAY HERE.
Arrived early, had to wait for our tour guide to give us keys. He was assisting other guests. Great size rooms very spacious with a great kitchen area.
Didn’t get to try the hotel restaurant as we ate out on both nights and just had coffee for breakfast.
Two supermarkets within walking distance.
My husband and I were pleasantly surprised at how convenient and comfortable Sophie Station Suites are. While it was just the two of us, we had a full kitchen, living room and bath. The staff was very accommodating. We would definitely stay there again.
A seperate bedroom and kitchen facilities
A bit away from the centre but uber solved that problem. Good for a flight out of Fairbanks as they had a shuttle
