Well equipped room. Good breakfast.
Evening meal menu was limited and the meals were just above average.
Lovely Hotel, staff were brilliant and very friendly. Ideally located for a visit to Bishop Auckland if you want to visit the exceptional event of Kynren.
Only downside of staying in this Hotel and vicinity is that there are no restaurants open on a Sunday after 2pm for meals of which we were not informed in advance. However we found Chang Thai Restauant in Bishop Auckland about 2 miles away close to the Palace.

The room was a good size, spotlessly clean and with a comfortable bed. The sound-proofing was excellent and we liked the fact that our room was away from the main building, in a small courtyard. There was ample free parking close to reception and to our room. We enjoyed breakfast which was a continental buffet and a choice of cooked options. The staff we interacted with at the reception desk and at breakfast were all very friendly and professional.
The hotel was really handy for an overnight stay after a full day at nearby Kynren, and a short drive away from the pretty town of Bishop Aukland.
Whilst very comfortable, the bed seemed on the small side.
The pull-down blinds did not block out the early morning sunlight. Additional curtains would both elevate the aesthetics of the room and reduce the light coming through in the morning, especially in summer.
We like to have an evening walk, but there wasn't much nearby.

Not being woken at 5.0m by the fire alarm. Caused by a moth upsetting the works; odd that the main building alarm is connected to the individual buildings. I gather the alarm has gone off frequently.
We were not warned there was no food on Sunday evenings. We had no car and were stranded and hungry. No taxis.
