Loved the breakfast
The only problem was the bathub did not drain properly. But that was the only problem.
Great location off the Hwy. Beds were comfortable. Staff was friendly.
Tv did not work. Staff was great about offering us a cheaper rate, but couldn’t do it because we booked through booking.com. Hours later they called and we were already in bed and offered to move us. We were already unpacked and settled in for the night so we declined moving. When we got up to shower, we found a dirty towel and wash cloth in the hanging within the shower curtain.
Pool was nice
Our room was so dirty I went and bought cleaning products so we could stay
The staff were friendly and the hotel was overall very clean. The breakfast was pretty good with good options.
Our room had a fridge that didn't get very cold, a microwave with a broken turntable, and the bathroom toilet paper holder was very loose
The bed was comfortable, ice machine worked good.
The cooling unit was pointless, the room started at 74, put the unit to cool to 64, never got below 72. Which is a big deal for a hot sleeper.
Great pool area. The breakfast was a huge selection and all tasty. So many waffle toppings! And the needs were all very comfy.

Room was a perfect size for our group.
Breakfast was solid, standard DIY wafflemaker and buffet options. Loved the Big Ships, Lake Superior history; the concierge shop in the boat is super cute.

This is an older building, there was some obvious wear-and-tear on parts of the hotel. This did not affect our stay.
Did not enjoy the manager's assumption that we were there for a "pool party" and "you might as well leave now because the cops will be here in 30 min"
That said, I am glad they shut down the pool party quick because my kids were ready to swim. I do understand both the desire to host a party here, and the manager's need to keep unregistered guests out of the pool.
The staff were SO kind and accommodating. Our room was comfortable. This was during grandmas weekend so it was more expensive than normal rates. We had a great stay and would stay again!

Highway robbery to pay the rate they charge during Grandmas weekend. I get the premium pricing but $400/night/room with two night minimum. I had to take pictures to show people as I knew nobody would believe me if I told them I paid $1600 for two rooms for two nights at a best western.
I sustained an injury, and the staff assisted with first aid supplies. I was in town for the marathon, and the hotel had plenty of snacks early for the runners.
I like how welcoming the staff were and had a lot of amenities that were in operating condition.

Guests arriving to breakfast barefoot. Unsanitary, couldn’t stay to eat. Happened 2 out of the 3 mornings and each day was someone different.
