My boxer shorts and body wash was stolen

I have called the health department , Expedia ( who I booked under) and best western corporation . My room was uninhabitable. . My room’s ceiling was covered in mold. The door almost didn’t want to open because the door seemed to be expanded…which is explained by the level of mold throughout the rooms ceiling. The nozzles for the sprinkler system in my room were RUSTED. The sheets on my bed were beyond damp, felt wet. ( and had a fresh looking stain in the middle of them. Oddly enough the furnishings in the room appeared to be brand new. When I asked for a different room they said they were booked even though the parking lot had MINIMAL cars, which is weird. I can not understand all the wonderful ratings this place has???? From my experience I would think it needs to be condemned. Oh, and the person who checked us in acted as if he was unaware of any of these issues….it was NUTS!!!!

My reservation was canceled within 8 hours of making it, because I called to let them know I would be checking in late to find out their pool was not usable. I was told I would not be charged yet they have not refunded my credit card! Horrible experience! Their pool is down and literally lied to by the management of this establishment! Avoid at all costs!

The workers were really nice and the location was great

We've stayed at this property several times in the past. There is now new ownership. Our arrival was met with buckets and garbage cans on the floor of the entry level. I suppose to catch dripping water? (We should have taken a hint). Once in the room my wife noticed the entry/bathroom floor was slippery. She attempted to wipe up whatever was on the floor but it was just dirty. It appeared to have been mopped with a dirty mop. We called the front desk and they promptly came and mopped it. The Wi-Fi would work for a minute and then not. The shower had zero bath gel - only shampoo and conditioner. We should have left but were worn out from traveling all day. We had a reservation to stay there the next week but cancelled it upon checking out. Breakfast was good.

We have always stay at the Gardendale best western. And had no issues but this time was disgusting. I have a 20 month old and his feet were filthy after walking and the room floors for 10 minutes. There was dried blood on pillows. As we are packing our car to leave another customer came up and asked if we had trouble with our room. They had claimed to been bitten by bedbugs. My grandfather went inside after finding bites on my little brother. My grandfather took the workers to our rooms to check them with the worker. The worker claimed to have had a bedbug problem “for a while”. After checking both rooms there were bedbugs found in all 4 beds. Absolutely disgusting!

Breakfast was excellent.

Made reservations in February for June 5 no mention of pool being down. Drove 6 hours in car with grandkids pulled in you could hear them groan. Check in asked about pool he said maintenance he could get us to go to partner 3 miles down road we checked in. We go to rooms as you walk down the 1st floor hall it smell of chemical. We open our door about half way you couldn’t open no futher had to put shoulder to get open. As we started to up pack our granddaughter knock on door said there room didn’t have a bathroom I told her yes it did the door to bathroom was stuck so bad it had to be pulled hard to open. My son decided to take kids to their partner hotel to go to pool well there pool was also closed. As we sat in our room my eyes got burning from the smell and all the other issues we decided to leave. Call there complaint line with no response from their corporate office is the manager at the hotel. I should have called health department on them.

Liked that it was nice and quiet, away from interstate.

My breakfast was delicious and much better than I expected. The staff was very kind and helpful. the dining room was spacious and so clean and inviting.
