We stayed here after getting off a ship and stayed 3 nights to explore the town and area.
It not downtown ever we did not want something in all of the chaos with the giant cruise ships. This place was nice. It was clean and there two restaurants that we ate at frequently. We have breakfast here each morning and a couple times we had dinner just because it was easy than going to some other tourist spot. This is a spot where most of the people in the restaurant are actually locals, which is a good sign of a good restaurant.
Who stayed in one of the Suites, which had balcony overlooking the water. I’m not sure about all the negative reviews but here are a couple talking points. Every single time I tried to call the reservation desk or the front desk. All I got was an AI robot. I even tried to call to a couple days before we left home and I could never get a hold of anybody and there was no response to the email confirmation.
In the end, we got the room that I bought for the amount that was advertised. It would be nice though if somebody picked up the phone. The restaurant staff are very nice and the food was consistently good so we ate several meals here.
One thing I would tell management is that the ship that had the major of ours outbreak, which is probably still happening as I rate this is staying in the lounge at the end of the fourth floor. That’s probably not a good idea because they are not sanitizing the ship and I witnessed even more people getting sick for the very first time in that lounge ; the Nat Geo staff did nothing about it and pretty much just wanna wash their hands as the whole scenario.
The on-site restaurants were amazing and the staff were very friendly and accommodating. We utilized the shuttle services number of times, which was a nice convenience.
The lack of air conditioning was definitely something we didn’t like.
Location
Room was way to hot and a fan was in the room but didn't really help.. property doesn't have air conditioning
Didn’t have breakfast as the dinner I had there was excellent. Everyone was very attentive and happy. Enjoyed everything about my stay. Thank you!!
You really can’t change this, yet, it’s a good long walk to the central part of town.
Staff was very friendly and helpful.
No air conditioning, and a bit expensive
This was a lovely rustic styled hotel with all necessary immensities. The staff are friendly and helpful. There was a free shuttle available to and from the airport. In addition, the shuttle would take you and pick you up wherever you asked to go. There were two restaurants available. One with a bar. The diner restaurant had delicious food and an amazing staff.
The port side pub was absolutely disgusting tonight! Food and service. Bread had mold on it, nothing has flavor. 11 year kid didn’t touch her burger it was so nasty.
Server said they don’t time courses so soups and salads showed up after entrees. Asked for manager and the server chuckled and said it’s 7pm there is no manager but the manager is in the other room with a party……
We have tried several times and this was the last straw.
The Landing Hotel is always a great place to stay in Ketchikan Alaska! The location is perfect and the rooms are very comfortable. The staff is friendly and helpful. The restaurants serve great food and service as well. Thank you!!
Room was adequate but the restaurant downstairs food has gotten terrible. Not only does it close early but the food quality has gotten bad. The restaurant open upstairs in the evening is not good for disabled people. The little elevator squeals and squeaks and takes a long time to get up or down. The van driver never got out of the van to help us elderly get our bags, just said there is not room to put baggage in the back. I had to put our bags on the seats by myself. I am 66 years old. That was a struggle, another passenger helped me get out bags out.
The location was perfect, close to shopping, diner and a pub on site, there was a shuttle.
The mattress was not to comfortable but it worked.
a little pricey but staff was very friendly
shuttle service could have been more available
