The outdoor pool area
Friendly staff
Some of the internal decor such as the carpets is a little dated and in need of a refresh. Didn’t matter to us but may for some.
Location
We were in a separate annex. Bed seemed very small
Everything staff and service was amazing

This honest review is based on our experience and opinion staying at the Doric Hotel in Blackpool all inclusive for 2nights. It is situated in the Lovely quiet side of Blackpool (fleetwood end for people like me that get confused lol), trams straight outside every 15mins. All day rider for us 2 £10 including buses (ask the conductor) BARGAIN!! Can’t fault this !!!! Some hotels have a rider pass included- we didn’t check the Doric did/didn’t have it.
If you’re fit and able- it is a good walk into Blackpool but not for the faint hearted!! It has wheelchair access but quite steep ramp to doors so anyone pushing a wheelchair would need to consider this. We saw mobility scooters and wheelchairs on the trams as we went along our way which made it simpler to get into Blackpool town for these users in our opinion.
Approx 30mins to fleetwood on the tram (please note market isn’t open MONDAYS)
Room was small and basic but clean and comfortable bed. Hotel information told us some rooms were in need of updating though- just didn’t know it was ours till we got in the room. However, we also didn’t know we would have a sea view room either till we went to our room (52) and didnt pay extra so bonus and a good compromise. Compact bathroom which could have done with a little updating/refreshing but everything we needed was there to get washed, changed and lay our heads down.
Reception was very welcoming and fresh, plenty of seating to view the outdoors whilst having a beverage or 4 lol. We went all inclusive, which meant on the day of arrival all drinks that were included began the moment we checked in at 3pm- 10pm. And then the following days from 12-10pm(house lager, cider, spiced rum, bicardi and vodka included) it’s a small drinks menu but was
Fine for us. If you want other options of beverages from the bar, you can get 50% off the price during the allocated all inclusive time. You need your room key each time you go to the bar!!!!
There is a £50 per night holding charge that needs to be given at check in so please take this into consideration when visiting the Doric.
Each night there was live entertainment and BINGO!!!! Not bad entertainment to be fair (2 solo acts)
There is both an indoor pool and an outdoor pool here. Outdoor pool is across the alleyway behind the hotel and the indoor pool downstairs in the building. We never actually used the indoor pool because we were so busy exploring and enjoying “all inclusive “ (breakfast, lite bites dinner and evening meal) but we did go and have a look- to 1st view, pool looked smaller than expected and water looked a bit cloudy- not sure if this is the case all the time so cannot comment. There is a small jacuzzi which would be suitable for 3 people max from judgment. Like most jacuzzis, the start button is on the wall away from the jaccuzzi which the couple in there said it was a pain getting in and out to restart the bubbles. I dont actually think we would have used the indoor pool (not snobs, just experience)
PARKING was a novelty, just a little area down the side of the hotel so once you have parked up, pray it is simple to get your car out- the reception staff take your car keys incase it needs moving for other guests to get out if you’re not available/unable.
FOOD/MEALS!!!! Where do I begin????
Evening meal- I was a nervous wreck because I have A LOT of food allergies that a problematic in most places which I get embarrassed about - mostly include nuts and seeds.
We waited at the entrance to be taken to our table which was a quite big booth. There was a cold bottle of water on our table and we were given a menu and the first thing the waitress asked was “any allergies at all?”
I verbally spewed all allergies is despair of not being being able to eat anything like in most other places I have visited but they made every attempt to make me feel comfortable and I actually did feel like I was in safe hands. Backwards and forwards with the chef for each meal and offered to even go to Sainsbury’s for alternative options to make me feel more at ease. Big shout out to LOUISE who was fantastic and a massive asset to the Doric waiting team. She went above and beyond what I was expecting and even when she wasn’t there on shift, she had instructed all the staff before hand which was a breath of fresh air (instead of me feeling arkward about repeating myself) it’s a complete drag having allergies and I know I’m not alone with that but couldn’t fault the Doric staff for making it their priority to make my dining experience a lovely relaxing one whilst staying with them. THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU
ALL INCLUSIVE WELL WORTH IT
Would book again definitely!!!!!
Location was good, even tram stop across road from hotel
Nothing!
The view
The proximity to the beach
Tramway nearby
The swimming pool
The size of the family room could be bigger.
The soap provided.we prefer the liquid one
No sufficient shower gel as we were 3 individuals and had just the quantity for one.
Hotel was great food first class staff very nice
My room had a terrible view
Would have paid extra for a nice view but it wasnt offered
Room a bit small to much in it
No drawers either just small bedside cabinets but very clean bathroom also tiny
The room got too hot on the top floor, a fan was provided but still too hot. If we go again I will ask for a lower floor room. I booked the Doric for its pools, and the outdoor pool was wonderful, along with the steam room and jacuzzi. Its out of school holidays so we swam in peace!! May look into going back in mid sept because of the pool, and by the way, the pool temp was wonderful even when it was a bit nippy out of the water.
The heat in our room made sleeping exceptionally hard and as the temps for our stay were only 19 - 20 deg it would become unbearable on hotter days
Restaurant, Outdoor swimming area, Lounge.
Most uncomfortable bed ever tried sleeping in. Rm 47 is very small also. Despite having access to a fan it was still too hot even with windows open. Parking is limited.
Not sure if it's mentioned anywhere but if you've booked online they take £50 per night as a pending deposit 🤔
The lift only carries 2 persons also.
Good location near the tram
Our room was at the back bit dark with view at back wall and loud ventilator . Breakfast was not so great.
The staff were very helpful the room was nice size and clean. Beds was lumpy though and the floor creaked like mad!
The indoor pool area where the steam room was very dirty, there was lime scale and dirt all over there was lots of dirt and debris around the indoor pool too it was a let down really as everything else was good.
