Original character with updates for today made for an enjoyable stay
Pros:

Charming old pub with high, pressed metal ceilings and original timber trim & doors. Simple, updated bathroom & kitchen facilities were in keeping with the rest.

Cons:

The doors to the verandah and some windows were showing their age and letting in a lot of cold winter air (and street noise). The blinds did not block the light from street. Muddy unmade path between car and entry door

If only I could get my money back I would that's how bad it was
Pros:

Definitely was not worth the money definitely was not worth to say definitely didn't know nothing for children and definitely had nothing there for anybody to do except for drunk and a takeaway which is not a very healthy lifestyle

Cons:

All all of it and I mean all of it too many fights noisy people were rude cockroaches in the rooms in the showers

Clean and excellent value
Pros:

It was an excellent deal, the property is an older building but everything was clean, the showers had good pressure and were hot and the staff friendly. There’s two sets of shared bathrooms, one has multiple stalls/rooms for the showers and toilets and the other end has individual rooms with a shower/bath and toilet all in the same room. The room had a sink and tv in it and the air con worked. There’s also a kitchenette with fridge, microwave, sandwich press etc.

Great stay after initial confusion. Will go again
Pros:

Very accommodating friendly staff, restaurant looked amazing with beer garden and play area. We loved the balcony areas opening up to the street below for a view of the hunter nightlife👍
only 20 min drive to Hunter Valley Gardens which was fabulous

Cons:

Computer system between booking.com and the hotel didn't match up properly so there was confusion about the bookings at first BUT the staff and management went all out to fix thee problem😁
Verandah/balcony areas a bit grubby

Location was good and it was clean

Cons:

The loud music was not disclosed in the booking. It was so loud the room was shaking and the floor beneath me was vibrating. I could not sleep. I ended up having to drive all the way to Sydney back home.
