Pros:

Beautiful surroundings and the place itself beautifully appointed. Restaurant and food exceptional. Great wines. Service was perfect (Loki).

Cons:

The bed wasn't comfortable, I found it quite hard.

Pros:

We arrived at the Grand Oaks later than we’d expected and decided to have something to eat in the restaurant there rather than find something in town. We ordered the prawn dumplings 🥟 (which were absolutely delicious) a local beer and a glass of wine. The restaurant has a wonderful olde world atmosphere. We loved our stay at the Grand Oaks and would definitely stay again.

it was pleasant and I would book again
Pros:

we didn't have breakfast as there was confusion in regards to breakfast being served on weekends
the beds were made beautifully and were comfortable
the man at reception and then in restaurant /bar area was outstanding

Cons:

The room were dirty , the carpet had heaps of dust around skirting boards
the water was extremely temperamental being boiling hot and turns freezing cold at the slightest introduction of cold
there was no milk in our fridge on arrival and there was an exploded beer in freezer

We were there on a Wednesday night and found that the Dining Room and bar were not open. Disappointing after a long drive on a cold wet night.

Perfect escape
Pros:

Really lovely place to stay.

The only thing was the sheets didn’t fit the bed and mattress was exposed.

Pros:

The outside gardens were beautiful with lots of established trees. The TV and aircon work. The scenery from the internal window was beautiful.

Cons:

The room was very small and tight, no space for luggage. Carpark was mostly at the back of the hotel with no direct access. In the room everything is basic, no microwave. No body wash just a soap.

it was very nice the bed was comfortable and location was great
Pros:

check in was good we arrived in very heavy rain and when we entered our room there was water coming in through the aircon the rain was very heavy and it was obvious that it was only the sheer volume that caused the water to enter the room we were quickly and easily transferred to another room. The restaurant was nice and a great meal, will stay there again.

Pleasant and well presented, comfortable accommodation
Pros:

Lovely setting, spacious and comfortable rooms. Plenty of amenity for those who chose not to wander too far e.g. coffee shop, restaurant, swimming pool, gift shop and extensive grounds.

Cons:

I guess having an onsite coffee shop lowers the quality of the tea and coffee offering in the rooms which is circa 1975, ie less than great
