We had a great stay, and I recommend this place. Domenico assisted us and was very helpful providing us all the information to visit the city
The location.
We arrived at the hotel at approximately 8am following an early flight. Prior to arrival, we had already informed the hotel that we would be arriving early, and we made it clear that we only wished to leave our luggage before exploring the city until check-in time. However, upon arrival, we were greeted by a receptionist who was extremely unfriendly and unprofessional. When we politely asked if we could leave our bags, he raised his voice and said, “Girls, it’s 8am, what do you want me to do? I have clients asleep.” This immediately created a very uncomfortable atmosphere and was not the welcoming start we expected.
The following day, due to severe jet lag, we remained in the room until around 3pm. Earlier in the day, housekeeping had asked whether we wanted the room cleaned, and I explained that it was not necessary at that exact moment and asked if they could return later once we had left. I later messaged the hotel via WhatsApp requesting that the room be cleaned, only to be told by reception that it had already been done. I replied explaining that this was impossible, as we had been in the room the entire day. Instead of checking properly, the receptionist continued to argue with me and insisted the room had been cleaned and that they would not clean it again. It later became clear that he had confused us with another British group staying at the hotel. Despite this mistake, no apology was offered for the rude and dismissive manner in which we were treated.
In addition, our room was covered in mould and felt damp throughout our stay. I raised this issue with reception, but the response was simply, “I’ll get the cleaners in.” Unfortunately, mould and dampness are clearly maintenance issues, not something housekeeping can resolve. No proper action was taken, and the condition of the room remained unacceptable.
Finally, guests are required to pay a deposit upon arrival, which we did.
Dom was very helpful with our check in. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The rooms are clean and the location is convenient.
The staff reception particularly Dominique was very nice. He helped me find a laundry shop nearby the hotel to wash my clothes. He also took the initiative to ask whether I needed my bags to be left at the reception for a few hours after I checked out from my room. This was super helpful as I had a few things needed to do today.
I stayed there for a week, and I found the location for this hotel very accessible to all the work-related things that I had to do. It is also close to Kings Cross Library for admin tasks and close to Kings Cross Station to access transport across CBD and Central Sydney.
For hygiene purposes I found the bedsheets (on my first day of stay) quite smelly. I informed this to Dominique and he was very receptive to my concerns. The bedsheets were replaced and cleaned. I never had issues after. Shoutout to Dominique for resolving this issue for me.
It was not comfortable to enter my room because there were no elevators. I had 2 big bags as I came from the airport, and it was difficult to carry them all the way to first floor because they were both heavy.
