This was a beautiful mini vacay for us and the perfect location to explore both Portsea and Sorrento
Pros:

We loved the whole feel of this beautiful hotel.We were fortunate to be upgraded to a terrace pool view which had a wonderful outlook and was extremely spacious.Coastal luxury.The staff at checkin were very welcoming and set the tone for the rest of our stay.The pool area was stunning.

A very welcome & generally relaxing stay.
Pros:

Location close to town & the comfort level of the room & facilities.

Cons:

We found accessing the room from the main building via the side street a little awkward (& imagine it would be worse if there was the rain), & finding carparks in the late afternoon & evening was challenging.

Pros:

The breakfast was yummy and just the right amount

Cons:

I went to go to the gym early and the lift was broken. I had no idea how to get up there and I called reception and no one answered or got back to me.
I ended up going for a run until it was later so I could ask someone where the stairs were. That was pretty annoying to be honest cause I wanted to do a workout early

A 2 night stay to explore the area.
Pros:

Breakfast was included. Great views from the outside terrace. Historic significance of the original hotel. Rooms were well set out with modern facilities and pod coffee machine.

Cons:

The heating in the room did not work well. Poolside rooms were motel type accommodation so you have to rug up to walk outside to the dining rooms or bars.
The main dining room was still being reimagined so the smaller salt bar was used with more or less usual pub food. I was expecting something more special.

dissapointing. No compensation given for the disrupted stay
Pros:

Salt restaurant staff especially Tahlia was so lovely and attentive!
food was great!

Cons:

Restaurant was closed for renovations
Deliveries were right outside our room which meant noise at 6am
construction site outside our hotel room which meant noise at 7am and continued all day
construction workers were always in our car park so we had to keep calling reception for them to move
Receptionist loudly announced to another guest on check in that they were upgraded because they are regulars and the hotel ALWAYS looks after regulars... with that experience we wont become regulars!

We couldnt wait to get away.
Pros:

The fluffy robes, the nice smelling shampoo etc. The new ferry terminal.

Cons:

The rooms seemed small,hard surfaces everywhere. Poor acoustics, breakfast held up due to something broken in kitchen, lack of choice. The iconic hotel on the hill now surrounded by tasteless buildings.

Pros:

Stayed for a special weekend with me and my girlfriend to be. Thanks to the staff and especially Ben for setting up the room while we were out for dinner, the surprise was perfect for her when we got back!

We would definitely stay again but would probably dine somewhere else at night.
