Location
As the stairwell was so tiny, the stairs were difficult to use.
Complimentary tea and scones were offered but at a set time only. Unfortunately we had to be in Longford at that time so missed out.
Complimentary breakfast also offered, but this was served in a different building and started at 9am. We had to be on the road by 8am so we couldn’t get breakfast either. I feel 9am is quite late for travellers to be hanging around waiting and see no reason that Woolmers couldn’t do up a breakfast basket for those wishing to leave earlier.
We explained this to the receptionist and her response was “oh that’s too bad”.
The sink in the toilet was no longer attached to the wooden bench and when using the toilet you were at direct eye level to top of the sink. The build up of slime, grime and debris was horrendous.
History property river views landscape
Not what we booked kitchen lacking heating and floor coverings stairs very tight and steep bathroom.not private stairwell not suitable for kids
Staff were really helpful. Was interesting to stay in a colonial era house, and despite it being the middle of winter it was lovely and warm.
While breakfast was on offer you had to go across to another aea of the estate to have it. A small breakfast basket in the house would have been an easier way to go.
Beautiful place to stay clean and friendly staff
Interesting and full of history, beautiful river
The location
The lock should be changed it was to ancient that we struggled to open the door multiple times.
Very interesting place to stay. Some history to learn.
Absolutely stunning scenery. The staff is beyond all expectations.
Everything was amazing
Amazing to feel so much history
Great little cottage!
Surroundings! Quietness! Great fire! Super comfortable!
Beautiful buildings and property overall. Great historical sites and very friendly staff.
We couldn't tour the main house because it's closed for deep clean until September. We weren't advised of this when booking
Great farm stay with historic buildings
Loved Woolmers Estate. The Gardners cottage we stayed in was amazing. Great country getaway
Loved the location. Wonderful staying in such an historic place. The staff were amazing and the Shepherds cottage lovely for the two of us. It was well priced especially as it included a Devonshire tea and breakfast.
Great cosy cottage..amazing homestead.
A real surprise package.
Everything! The old world charm, value for money with access to touring the old homestead included in the price as well as a Devonshire tea and continental breakfast. The staff and management were brilliant, very helpful and extremely cooperative. An extremely pleasurable stay/experience.
I couldn’t fault anything.
Everything from the accomodation to the history of the property & the beautiful staff
Well, it's Woolmers, what can I say! Absolutely lovely grounds and views. The cottage was extremely comfortable, modern but with Heritage charm as well. The staff were exceptional and the entire experience exceeded our expectations. Woolmers will be our new base for coming and going from
Launceston airport as it's so convenient but also very special!
Nothing.
Amazing!! The cottage was fantastic and the staff were friendly and easy going! Highly recommend!
Nothing
The Gardener's Cottage was authentic and quaint, an original building but updated for comfort.
We especially loved setting the fire and enjoying the cosy ambience and warmth. The sunset from the window was like a Wolfhagen or Wagner painting, two accomplished artists who appreciate the vistas in this part of the world.
