Comfortable and spacious room, but layout was a little awkward, reflecting the built-in fireplace/ chimney. Evening meals in the bar were excellent and service was quick and cheery. Buffet continental breakfast was also very good.
On our second day we were informed, by a letter quietly slipped under the door, that the buffet breakfast would not be available the following day, even though we had booked the room on basis that it would be available. Apparently this was because they did not have enough room bookings. Instead, a 'breakfast pack' would be left in the fridge in the guest lounge. After discussions with the Manager, this issue was satisfactorily resolved, much to the delight of other the guests.
Faulty towers without the faults, loved it! Rooms upstairs, bar and restaurant down stairs, plenty of east parking. Really cosy place, highly recommended.

Was very cold. Room smelt of cigarettes. No milk for tea and coffee, no breakfast included as advertised and paid for.
Beautifully restored building and rooms. Very friendly and efficient staff. Warming log fire in the lounge area. Excellent dinner in the restaurant.

The room was too small, located near a washing room and the shower door was broken.
The restaurant/bar area was beautiful. The staff were exception and the food was amazing.
The room and bed was a bit small and crowded, the shower door and blinds in the bathroom were broken. Needs a bit of upgrading.
Everything was outstanding! A large old-world hotel overlooking a historic wharf.
The surprising and extraordinary feature was complimentary continental breakfast. Lovely fresh local produce, plenty of choices and elegantly served in a delightful dining room overlooking the river.
The staff were great. Our room was large and comfortable. We stayed two extra days because everything was so good!
We didn't see Agatha Christie anywhere but wouldn't been surprised at all if she showed up.

Big bathrooms … water was hot! Just one issue as the shower is over the bath … it is very slippery when stepping in & quite dangerous. My 4 year old grandson took a slip & slide on entering & he was lucky he didn’t hurt himself!
Staff were friendly & very helpful & breakfast is a bonus with yummy homemade jam!
Had a bit of a glitch with my booking on check-in … I had previously messaged the property on the location/type of rooms I required … 2 rooms. I was even sent a map of the rooms so I could check their location … on check-in it wasn’t what I had booked … it all was sorted but a bit frustrating& time consuming as I had all of the messages confirming my choices.
