SUPER
Pros:

The hotel and the staff are wonderful, it has an interior courtyard with a swimming pool with variable depth, the bellman is a nice, smiling, polite, respectful guy, the ambiemce is relaxed, intimate, pleasant and the food is great!
What more can we ask for?

Pros:

We had a great experience at berjaya hotel.the view is beautiful, food is delicious, and the rooms are clean and comfortable.

We had a small issue with room door key ,but Malindu from maintenance fixed it quickly - great and supportive staff.
Highly recommended,very safe and worth staying!.

Pros:

The rooms were not tidy and once we went to have Dinner, the Buffett was over and we had to order from the set menu. we waited for the food in the restaurant and the waiter took the wrong order and we ended up in the room waitng for the food to be prepared again. it took another 1 hour for the food. Only the Housekeeping Boy Dilshan gave an excellent service.

Not a clean hotel
Pros:

This hotel is very close to the beach. But far from city centre. This is a old hotel lack of maintenance. I found dust on the furniture. Spider was hanging from the roof. I asked for drinking water to room service. But they didn’t send. Every time entered the room have to logging the Wifi repeatedly.

Excellent Manger and Staff and Wonderful Hotel
Pros:

My wife and myself really enjoyed our stay here!! We were visiting Sri Lanka from Germany. The Hotel is right on the beach. The atmosphere is very quiet and peaceful. We had a very comfortable direct Ocean view room with excellent Air-conditioning which we found super helpful when dealing with this extremely hot April temperatures in Colombo. The Manger Mr.Livera is extremely friendly, polite and super helpful!!! The staff are all very polite and friendly. The prices are also excellent. We highly recommend this Hotel for anyone visiting Colombo.

Memorable stay at Berjaya hotel
Pros:

Location is fabulous as it's just opposite beach. Food is typical Sri Lankan which may not cater to everyone's taste. Staff are very cheerful n helpful. They have a swimming pool which is very well maintained. Rooms are hygenic n airy with balcony facing the beach. Would definitely recommend others to visit this hotel and experience an enjoyable n comfortable stay.

Here you don’t get what you pay for
Pros:

Rooms are nice. Fairly spacious. Beds comfortable. Good a/c. Easy access to beach.

Cons:

Breakfast is lacking in variety. Staff, while not unfriendly, are pretty nonchalant. Not especially helpful, which is unusual in Sri Lanka. This seems to be the attitude throughout the hotel.
While the room was nice, the balcony was noisy due to the a/c unit which also took up nearly half the space. Made the balcony not very nice. In the bathroom the sink was very slow to drain and the toilet difficult to flush.
All of this might seem minor until you realize that this hotel is more expensive than the historic luxury hotel nearby.

We really enjoyed ourselves and it was very authentic

Friendly and helpful staff, very comfortable bed, pool a real asset, beach nearby was great with great views

other guests were sometimes noisy late into the evening / night and this could easily be heard. Could there be notices to be considerate in the corridor?
A desk light would have been very helpful
