Enjoyable stay, excellent location for the price
Pros:

Excellent location, especially for the price. The renovations are outstanding, loved the aesthetic, lots of little uniquely decorated nooks and interesting accents. The ensuite was lovely with a beautiful shower. Lots of various places to sit and enjoy food and drinks. Also, in walking distance to other places to eat and drink and the water'e edge/esplanade.

Cons:

The TV in our room did not work, couldn't get a picture only sound for limited TV stations. Tried to Cast from mobile and the TV sound remained in the background competing with Cast content.

Downstairs of the hotel is divine, styled beautifully. This does not translate to the room we had!

The hotel is gorgeous however the rooms are terrible. Small, no character, marks all over the walls. Felt like a hospital room.
I guess if you just wanted to literaly lay your head to sleep then it would be OK.
The downstairs of the hotel is divine. Only high praises there. just the room was not as expected. Not sure what the other rooms are like. It was $150 per night so cheaper than most hotel rooms around and in a great central location.

The room was such a let down. Tiny, no character, marks all over the walls. Felt like a hospital room, very clinical.

Not sure what the other rooms are like. It was $150 , so cheaper than most hotel room around and in a great central location. We were at a show at the civic theartre so it was nice and close to stay. Knowing how gorgeous the rest of the hotel is downstairs and the styling, we expected more with their rooms. Not what we were expecting for a romantic staycation away from the kids!

Love staying at the Lucky Hotel.
Pros:

Location is great, close to restaurants, cinema, supermarket, light rail. Parking on the street nearby is easy. If you're driving an EV, there are charging stations nearby. Rooms are very comfortable with everything needed for a good sleep. Hot showers, fluffy towels. It's great to have check in stay open as long as the bar stays open. Staff happily brought me a blanket and crockery/cutlery. Great value for money too.

Cons:

I prefer the rooms with the opening doors onto the small balcony/terrace. The other rooms don't have opening windows.

Great location, cool vibe, renovations are great, and all for a fabulous price. Food and ambience in the downstairs pub was also great

Cons:

We didn’t think the accomodation front of house staff were particularly welcoming or helpful. They didn’t know where a local convenience store was when we asked. We thought there would be a kettle and toaster available

Pros:

The staff were warm and friendly, and the amenities perfect for what I needed for my weekend stay. The food in the restaurant was great and I love that it is so close to everything Newcastle has to offer.

Cons:

Nothing - everything was perfect and as advertised. I only wish I was staying there longer. Maybe next time.
