It is absolutely a stunning location and property. Everything was beautiful, and the food was delicious. We enjoyed the farm to table restaraunt immensely. It was a highlight of our stay in Costa Rica!!
Nothing. We loved it all.
Beautiful location. Loved the restaurant, the trails and property.
NA
beautiful room and serraunding
no swimming pool no spa no elevator no T.V in room no air condition very average breakfast
This hotel offers a pleasant stay with stunning views over the Gulf of Nicoya and excellent locally sourced dining. We really enjoyed the breakfast. The room felt slightly outdated and the bathroom design is impractical, as the floor floods during showers. Access to the property is via an unpaved road. Overall, it was a decent experience, though not a very memorable one.
We loved our stay here. A very calm environment, very helpful staff, delicious food from the restaurant and an extremely comfortable room and beds
Set in wonderful location with its own trail
The property was perfect , if I was being very picky I would have liked a pool
Breakfast: very good products.
Location: just outside of the city, in the middle of the nature.
Restaurant: great view at sunset
nothing
The rooms were large, comfortable and had an excellent view. The bathroom was also nice and had a great strong shower. We enjoyed the breakfast buffet - there was always lots of food available. They also allowed us to change our booking despite it being non refundable.
Not anything really!
Great People, great project, amazing view, nice with kids... we loved our stay!
We stayed four nights in the new annex (just opened this year) and loved the view, decor, and comfortable beds. It was peaceful and quiet—exactly what we wanted. Housekeeping staff were visible but unobtrusive, and the chickens reminded us we were on a farm!
Breakfast was included on a 2-day rotation. The fresh yogurt with farm honey was delicious, and both room and restaurant coffee were excellent and replenished daily. The wood-fired pizza was unbelievably good. We enjoyed every meal we ate there. The restaurant staff were delightful, service-oriented, and remembered our preferences after two days.
We met lovely tourists with the same relaxed vibe and enjoyed sunset Happy Hour nightly. We ate dinner there three of four nights, because it was so good and so convenient! Highlights included a jungle walk on premises where we saw leaf-cutter ants, an easy drive to Monteverde Cloud Forest Park (spotted a quetzal, tarantula, and howler monkeys), and the neighbouring Butterfly Garden with beautiful Blue Morphos.
It's a 9/10—not perfect due to occasional sewage smell from the pond near the annex (see photo). We caught occasional whiffs on the balcony in our room, second-nearest the pond. Not overpowering or unbearable, but noticeable for those accustomed to odourless environments (suburbanites, perhaps?). Bar service during happy hour was sometimes slow, but we weren't in a hurry and still received the discount price even if drinks arrived late.
The room was very nice with a balcony. The restaurant had an amazing sunset view. The hiking trails were really nice and the hammock area on the trails was very relaxing. Very convenient location in Monteverde and close to a lot of nearby restaturants. (Visited the Treehouse restaraunt in Monteverde- check it out).
I loved everything about this hotel, including the unpretentiousness of a higher rated hotel. The use of permaculture in their farm to table was visibly evident and the educational component unique and well done. I am excited to build this practice on my own 6 acres.
Not much to not like! Sometimes the staff was exceptionally friendly but some staff fell a little flat but that is not a reason to not stay here!
The property is lovely, so many animals around - the kids loved spotting the coatis and lizards as we walked to and from our room! The nature reserve is great to explore and we did the night hike through the hotel as well which was amazing. Loved the bar and the happy hour! It was great to be able to sit and enjoy the sunset with a happy hour drink while the kids played on the bikes and scooters the hotel has available.
Breakfast was probably one of the weakest we had in the whole of our stay in Costa Rica. I constantly had to ask plates as they seemed never to be available at the buffet and the choices were very limited. Surprising as we had dinner in the hotel one night and the offerings were excellent.
