Powerful shower
Carpet old and dusty. Needs redecorating. Cobwebs and lots of small spiders. Milk cartons were out of date which curdled the cup of tea. TV did not work had to visit reception twice before rectified. No hairdryer, had to visit reception to ask for hairdryer. The floorboards above creaked a lot when the guest above walked around.
The staff was very helpful and pleasant
The rooms, Very basic, very dated, very noisy bathroom extractor fan. Hallway light switches off before you get the key in the door.
The highlight of the whole stay was that the food was exceptional, freshly cooked, very tasty and good sized portions.
Whether you eat in the bar, outside or Indian Restaurant all areas are very clean and nice to be in. Good service and fabulous staff.
I arrived late and staff waited for me and carried my bag up to my room as I have a stick. Very kind and made sure I was ok each time I saw them whilst I stayed to perform duties at my aunties.
Stable block room was a little tired and basic hallways, but exceptionally comfortable bed. Desk for working at, plenty of room for clothes. TV didn't work initially but was eventually sorted. They had a fan in there for the hot weather which meant although the room was hot, it helped a huge amount.
Car park has plenty of spaces and no fear of not being able to park. Being there during the football world cup meant Footee was on the TV in bar area. Having said that it no way imposed on me sitting in various areas when my friend came over, or by myself reading a book.
It would be nice to see some building repairs and decoration work. BUT you don't spend a huge amount of time in your room so it worked for me. I would def stay again.
Very clean and lovely location
It was always perfect
Location service food accommodation all good
Liked all of ot
The room was very quiet, clean and comfortable. The food in the restaurant was excellent, a wide choice of lager and cider. Large garden with plenty of shade
The pillow was way too soft and not enough of them.
Food was excellent, staff were friendly. The connection for the bedside light was faulty and the TV in the room too small
As above
Very welcoming, clean & comfortable
Nothing
Large room
Noisy floorboards
Location
Arrived for a family gathering, staff were very helpful. Room was nice, could hear the person above us moving around, we were in the stables section, but didn’t stop us sleeping. Had food in the hotel fish and chips and lamb shank, both delicious. The breakfast was huge, very nice, but couldn’t eat all mine, was full till tea time. Staff very friendly.
Lovley building and very friendly staff . Drinks reasonable price .
Bit tired and Run down on the side of the building and we had one of the stable rooms . Our door didnt shut properly and the bathroom was rundown. Rooms could do with a revamp and very creaky floors could hear people walking about upstairs . Was disappointed in breakfast had to wait ages to be served and the cooked breakfast was burnt and covered in oil and sausages where not great quality .
The location was excellent with ample parking. The reception area was very welcoming as was the bar/dining area
The room allocated was ground floor as requested but away from the hotel in the Stable block with wheelchair assisted access with an exceptional ramp up to the door. However the facilities inside left a lot to be desired especially the bed which seemed to have been an afterthought a timber framed base wth headboard and tailboard attached not a divan type which would have been better the mattress was not protected and had seen better days with severe bobbling of its covering not conducive to a great night’s rest .It was very low we had difficulty getting on and off it as the wooden frame was higher than the mattress not good for a person with a disability.Shower room facilities were excellent adapted well for disabled.Disappointed at not having access to a breakfast menu offered full English breakfast with no alternatives such a shame as it had been highly recommended and why we chose to stay here.
Lovely old building.
Checking in and dinner
The main problem with room 10 was the extremely noisy floor in Room 16 above, which woke me up every time somebody walked around - five times during the night! I reported this to the Maître D', who said he would get maintenance to check it.
