Lovely hotel
Pros:

The Elms is a lovely hotel . Our twin room was very clean and nice toiletries supplied. Breakfast cooked to order . The Indian restaurant there is exceptional as was the traditional one. We loved our 2 night stay and were made welcome by all the staff who all endeavoured to ensure we enjoyed our stay

The location is perfect, very quiet, staff were lovely and rooms would be cosy if they were clean. Such cosy little rooms, nice surroundings. Lovely staff.

Cons:

The rooms looked like they hadn’t been cleaned in months. Cobwebs everywhere, hairs round the sink, bath, window ledges, floors, my socks were black after being there (I’ll pack slippers in the future) furniture was dusty and sticky, bath tiles full of mold. It’s a shame because the rooms would be lovely if updated and deep cleaned

Pros:

It was very easy check in. It had good facilities and the room was located close those. The little mini soap, shampoo, conditioner and body wash. We stayed the night following a wedding at the hotel so very convenient. Friendly staff.

Cons:

We didn’t sleep very well - due to not finding the mattress comfortable, the curtain wouldn’t fully shut and the room wasn’t very dark. We found it quite hot in the room despite having window open and fan on.

Uncomfortable bed. Initially offered an awful ground floor depressing room in a quiet car park which felt unsafe . A woman on her own shouldn't be put there it was grim and a skimpy 3 inch matress . I paid for a double room but had to move to an u comfortable really narrow single bed! Food normally good there but the chef must have been off as I got an expensive plate of salty slop

Staff were lovely, responded to our queries timely and were helpful

Cons:

- The room was very hot and it was very difficult to keep the window open to cool it for our newborn
- There was *heavy* mould on the windows
- The sink was completely blocked, I had to unblock it myself to even be able to use it and it was dirty and gross
- We were promised a fridge in the room when we called a week before our stay but we only got one on day 2, which was quite inconvenient
