⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 10/10 – Perfect Austin Home Base

Stayed at Hotel Van Zandt for a long weekend on a guys’ trip, and it couldn’t have been a better choice. The location is outstanding—just steps from Rainey Street and within easy reach of everything we wanted to do in Austin. We barely needed to think about transportation all weekend.

The pool was fantastic and the perfect place to relax between outings. The food exceeded expectations, and having a coffee shop and lobby bar on-site made mornings and late evenings incredibly convenient.

The hotel strikes a great balance between upscale and laid-back, with a fun atmosphere that fits Austin perfectly.

I’d recommend Hotel Van Zandt without hesitation. Whether you’re traveling with your spouse or partner, a group of friends, or the whole family, this hotel is an excellent choice. We had an outstanding stay, and I’d book it again in a heartbeat.

Had a great stay at Hotel Van Zandt! Shan at the front desk was incredibly friendly and welcoming, and she made check-in quick and easy. That first impression set the tone for the rest of the stay. The hotel has a fun vibe, the rooms were comfortable, and the location was perfect. Definitely recommend!

Very disappointing stay. Granted, the hotel is lovely, and clean - First - when booking there was supposed to be a complimentary breakfast. The first morning we went down to eat only to be informed there is no "free complimentary breakfast" but we were welcome to go to the coffee shop to buy our coffee and something to eat, order room service or eat in the hotel restaurant which is not free. Secondly, there is an additional $35 dollar "resort fee" that you are charged per day - so the "free" drink tokens are not free - You pay that additional fee to use the pool, the gym and for your "free" drink tokens. Then there is the parking! I get it is in the Rainey District but I have never been charged to park at a hotel I had paid to stay at. At first, we were quoted $45 a night but when I went to park, they told me that was incorrect and it was $65 a night. Ouch. So the first night I was charged the $65 but when I went to check out the next morning it was now over $100 a night. I asked by the increase and they stated it was because my truck was oversized. So they decided to charge me $65 one night only to turn around and charge me extra the next night - and I drive a small little Ford Ranger. Not a big truck at all. This place nickel and dimes you! So, we ended up paying $235 more than expected and that does not include what we spend on breakfast for ourselves. I have never experienced anything like this ever in all my years of traveling. Very disappointed and we will never stay there again. They need more transparency!

My husband and I stayed here to celebrate our wedding anniversary, and the experience was wonderful from start to finish. The staff went above and beyond to make our stay feel special. They upgraded our room for a very reasonable fee, and when we arrived, they surprised us with a beautiful tray that included champagne, a charcuterie board, and a thoughtful handwritten anniversary card.

We spent a relaxing afternoon enjoying the pool, which had a great atmosphere, and had delicious meals at the hotel’s restaurants. Every staff member we interacted with was friendly, welcoming, and attentive.

The little touches and exceptional hospitality made our anniversary weekend one to remember. We would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend it for a special occasion or a relaxing getaway.

This hotel was one of the best experiences we've ever had! Everything was spotless, and we stayed in the Corner King room, which had amazing views. The staff provided exceptional service and went above and beyond to make our stay special. Since it was my husband's birthday, I requested a special arrangement, and they surprised us with chocolates, wine, and chips in our room. Every detail was perfect, and we truly felt welcomed and cared for. I highly recommend this hotel 100% worth it!

Perfect location and great facilities

We had an absolutely amazing stay at the hotel. Everyone we came into contact with was so kind and helpful and went out of their way to make our stay amazing. Angela especially, was so so kind to my little fella as well as us. When we got there the first two days were rainy and cold so we didn't get to do much, so she sent us up some champagne and little charcuterie board for us to enjoy. The next night she sent up our little guy a bull plushie and some popcorn and candy for us to enjoy a little family movie night. She and the other members of the front desk always made sure to ask how our day was when we got back and wish us a great day when we would leave for the day. There was never a time when we were leaving that someone didn't hold the door for us and welcome us back on our return. Literally all of the staff was so pleasant to talk to and that alone makes us want to come back and visit Austin.

Hotel Van Zandt never ceases to amaze and deliver on great service. Jonathan and his valet team are top notch, like last time I visited! You can tell Jonatan is the heart and sole of the department!

Staff was super nice and valet was amazing and super fast even on busy days! 10/10 recommend for your stay and the rooms are SUPER clean! Will definitely be staying here again.

Very stylish great bar with live music

Shan made what started as a stressful day end on such a positive note. After a terrible Airbnb experience, we needed a last-minute room for four people, and she jumped in to help us immediately. She was so kind, attentive, and genuinely cared about making sure we were taken care of. She found us the perfect room quickly and made us feel right at home from the moment we walked in. Her customer service was truly exceptional, and we're so grateful for her kindness. Thank you, Shan, for turning our day around! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Great experience every time I visit, I try to make this the only place I stay in Austin. Great rooms, great atmosphere, and great staff at the front desk and bars. Shan at the front desk was a delight and brightened my mood and set the tone for the entire stay.
