Great location , breath taking reception area , value for money
Pros:

Great location , doggie friendly, professional staff , rooms allowing dogs are functional but could do with a little updating ,

Cons:

The service for dinner was slow as those with dogs are seated in an area well away from the kitchen and bar it feels like a corridor . TV signals in our room was awful making unusable on most channels

Pros:

Good area nice setting

Cons:

Fire alarm at 3am from someone smoking in the room - yes not the hotels fault but having been told by others guests that it had happened the night previously also then they should have removed said guest. Instead our day was ruined and my daughter was having melt downs with her struggles. Also the breakfast was not nice at all

Good experience overall
Pros:

Nice clean hotel, friendly staff , good food

Cons:

No form of transport available from the hotel, uber dosent operate in the area, no trains or shuttle buses. And to get a taxi they had to come from up to 15 miles away so were very expensive. Taxis also didnt want to come to the hotel as the access roads to it were in extremely bad condition with large pot holes . If going to this hotel they should advertise u need your own car etc.

We definitely enjoyed our stay. The property was outstanding and the staff were very friendly.
Pros:

The property was amazing. Rooms were spacious and the food was decent. Staff at reception were friendly

Cons:

The fire alarm went off two nights in a row in the middle of the night. On the last night no one cane to clear our main course dinner plates. We had paid for three courses but waited so long we gave up. Staff were setting up for breakfast all around us but didn’t seem to notice us. I had the soup two nights in a row. It came with a crusty roll which never appeared but other residents were being served soup with bread. Small things like this do make a difference. That said, the price was good value and the food decent. The rooms would have been better with some shampoo bottles and water but were clean and comfortable with great views. The location is rural but only a short distance from local towns by car.

Hotel nice location , staff not great at following fire alarm procedure
Pros:

Location and the View with the river and streams

Cons:

The staff were incompetent due to the fire alarm going off twice as a family we felt this was a necessary review due to the lack of responsibility taken by the staff upon the fire alarm the staff didn’t come out to speak to us at the 6am fire alarm nor the 3am fire alarm the next night ! we felt very uneasy about staying a 3rd night. In the hotel due to this. There was no roll call to check everyone was out ‘the staff apparently checked each room’ I would say this is a Saftey aspect due to the majority of the hotel having older guests on a bus holiday. Aswell as myself and my partner with a small child and the other family’s that stayed there. For me this is unacceptable.

Niet helemaal wat we verwacht hadden.
Pros:

Pros:

Nothing

Cons:

First it was in the middle of nowhere, you had to drive a single track road for about a mile which was mostly washed away full of pot hole's, the hotel was disgusting the worst I have ever stayed in , I new as soon as we walked in the stairs on the way to the room were filthy not dust but thick with black dirt all the way , the room OMG , bathroom shower curtain thilthy , floor thilfy hadn't been cleaned in god knows, taps thilfy. Bath full of stains, bedroom hadn't been dusted in god knows, teaspoon brown hadn't been cleaned, when I told reception they told me no other rooms , which no doubt would of been the same , I have taken pictures to prove it , no doubt other guests will say exactly what I'm saying, if I hadn't driven 10 hours I wouldn't of stayed , left at 5 the next morning and will never return

We actually enjoyed our stay.
Pros:

The building is lovely, old and quirky with great features: lights, panelling, stained/engraved glass, reception and bar. Loads of comfy seating in public areas.
The staff were happy and friendly in the evening.
Bedroom was comfortable, quiet and airy.
Food at dinner was good and the provision of free coffee/tea after dinner was very nice.
The grounds are pretty but we didn't see any red squirrels.
The didn't likes look alot but we really did enjoy our stay. They are suggestions for changes rather than complaints.

Cons:

The lane to the hotel is awful, full of deep potholes.
Lack of general information about how things work.
The fire alarm went off 3 times during dinner, no explanation.
At dinner we were seated by staff at a specific table but not told about the coffee facility.
At breakfast that table was occupied so we were put on another. It was not set, we had to ask for cups, milk etc. When we asked for cups and saucers we were taken to the ketchup/brown sauce.
There were no sausages and the eggs were so hard they bounced, not value for money at £12.95
The place was lovely but the carpets needed hoovering. The corners of our bathroom were dirty and there were marks on the duvet cover.
