Excellent food, Edwardian Era vibe, beautiful location.
Pros:

Location was fantastic, walks right from the door step. Little stream nearby. Beautifully maintained and had the vibe of a ‘Downtown Abbey ‘ era. They have a fantastic chef, the food was delicious!! We had both the evening meal and the breakfast. They have a lift which really helps. Everything clean and charming.

Cons:

We were on the second floor and it was the tail-end of the heat wave and a fan in the room would have really helped. Other than that there were no complaints!!

Great value for money historic hotel in moorland near to motorway with attentive/helpful staff
Pros:

Staff were cheerful, very helpful and took time to answer questions
It was explained on check in that coach tours were staying that night and staff suggested we select times for dinner and breakfast.
Excellent buffet breakfast - even had fried bread, haven't seen that in years
Woodland walk to see Red Squirrels

Cons:

Bathroom was a bit tired

A good variety. Specially liked the muesli with yoghurt and several fruits
Pre booked evening meal was very tasty and good value

Great stay in faded grandeur.
Pros:

Great location. and views. Comfortable room and bed. Tea making facilities in room very welcome.
Bath very welcome after a hot day of mountain walking!
Friendly staff and great array of food for breakfast.
Lots of seating areas/lounges on ground floor for people to relax in.

Cons:

TV did not work in room.

Amazing countryside hotel.
Pros:

What an amazing place in a stunning rural location. We loved all of the charming old features in side of the hotel. What a grand place to stay. Our room was comfortable, clean and spacious with a nice ensuite. All of the staff were exceptional in their roles. They were friendly, helpful and a pleasure to deal with. Dinner and breakfast were both really enjoyable with a decent choice of food available. We really enjoyed our stay and will look forward to returning soon.
