Comfortable but don’t rely on table bookings being honoured.
Pros:

Nice old fashioned hotel. Very comfortable and serves an excellent breakfast.

Cons:

I booked a table for 6pm and the booking was confirmed.
When I booked booked in I was informed that the booking was cancelled because a coach party was coming and they had priority. I was disgusted that they could confirm a booking and disregard it in such an off hand manner. The experience left my wife and I feeling like second class customers

In short, would have turned around & not checked in but due to location everywhere else was fully booked. Maybe that
Pros:

Unfortunately I can’t really say there was anything that my friend & I liked when we stayed.

Actually there was a positive the water in taps/shower was hot!

Cons:

I accept the property is vey old but it could certainly do with some up dating.
Huge stains on carpets, in hallways. Room was very cold & had a musty sort of smell, we put our thick coats on the beds) no heating on, we turned the valve of the radiator but to no avail. Went to reception to see if they could sort the problem! Waited & waited for a result in the end we found the phone in our room tried to ring down but it wasn’t even plugged in & socket no could be found. Another trip to reception, member of staff checked the boiler advised it was now on & he came to check room - lovely we thought. Until the following morning & went through the whole procedure again! Eventually phone plugged found by moving beds around!
From my bed I could hear the person next door splashing around in the bath etc.
So glad we didn’t get allocated a room in the house near the main entrance wouldn’t like to think what that was like.
Restaurant only had a choice of 4 starters, 4 or 5 main course, 3 desserts. Very limited choice & meal our main course was absolutely tasteless which says a lot seeing as it was fish!
Breakfast was reasonable, but considering they knew how many people were booked in was lacking in quantities, & hot breakfast laid up that only 2 people at a time could get anything, thankfully we arrived earlier before the 2 coach parties turned up for theirs.
